Vince McMahon is looking to sell WWE

Wrong, absolutely wrong. WWE is a sinking ship. You be the judge for yourself, get surrounded yourself with wrestling fans and hear what they have to say.
Yeah I don’t know the numbers, but that’s certainly my perception of it. Jim Cornett has hours talking about how and why the WWE has gotten so bad, it deserves to die for the shit they put out

I didn’t say the product was good you fucking idiot, I just proved that the WWE wasn’t dying, 2020 was their profitable year IN THE HISTORY OF THE COMPANY. Does that sound like a sinking ship to you? Dumb ass

Your first response was defending the abysmal ratings, which I pointed out were at record lows. They may be profitable because of the Tv deals they have but how long will they last when ratings keep dropping? WWE is dying and good riddance. I stopped watching in 2004, tried a few times over the years but I literally cant even get through a show its horrific. Vince went senile decades ago.

I don’t think we are disagreeing, I’m not arguing that the product is horrible, which it is, even NXT has become dull for me, I’m just arguing that you can’t call a company a sinking ship when they’re making record profits. Other than that I completely agree with your points.

I don't keep up with WWE. Is it not doing so well?

Due to their network, streaming, and international deals they're making more money than they ever have.

Yet, the content they've made in recent years has been the absolute weakest in its history. Its comparable to WCW in its last year.

I'd say the two talents they have that are actually are worth watching are Sasha Banks, who is the best female wrestler I've ever seen, and Bray 'The Fiend' Wyatt, who of all the 'horror characters' in Pro Wrestling history (the vast majority are horrible) I'd say he's the the most creative from a psychological angle.

Seriously though, other than those two its been a shit show.

WCW 00/01 was its own monster, WWE haven’t booked Ranjin Singh or whoever is the head of creative to win the belt... yet.

Yes, but they have systematically over the course of many years pissed off their own fanbase multiple of times over.

Vince MacMahon has made it clear he couldn't care less about the first rule of show business - "Give the audience what they want."

So, the audience feels disrespected, and take their money elsewhere and find other things to watch on Monday and Sunday nights... or begin watching AEW.

Its doing badly but thats got jack shit to do with AEW. Pro wrestling across the board is just in a long term lull.
Do you think it’ll ever come back though? Seems like it’s gone downhill after everyone just accepted its fake and it started to become ridiculous. I don’t know if it can ever come back from that

Fair enough, you make good points.

Forever is a long time I guess. Its not looking good though, I mean the last boom period ended 20 years ago. And its been painfully uncool to be into it since around the time the WWE went PG as the UFC simultaneously blew up.

I think covid lockdown has effected sales really badly. The whole wwe thing involved have crowds falling for their gimmick and going wild , shouting and screaming. It's a model that has worked for decades. Recently they've had to have lcd screens (with spectators watching from home). in place of some of the spectators. I think revenue has suffered badly.
