Vikings are the GOAT

WHat I've always wondered was... Norwegians, Swedes and Danes(Fins are a little different culturally) of the modern day don't make me think of badass warriors...

In Norway any sport with head contact(like Boxing or MMA) is banned by the King and in Sweden Feminism has taken over and while they're lots of still manly looking dudes from these countries, the attitudes seem too have made them weak and passive. try

I have alot of respect for these countries, they've kept Metal alive and have some of the best bands... but what the hell happened? Why aren't they the badasses they were 1000-600 years ago?

I guess Christianity pussified them... or were Vikings ever really that great?

LOL who cares about the metal...

WHAT ABOUT THE WOMEN?! (whch is more vital to your existence)

love scandinavian liberals bwhahaha

I also want to bring up one point. William the Conquerors granddaughter Empress Matilda married a frenchmen named Geoffrey from Anjou just south of Normandy. So the male line that ruled England was French for some time. It became House Plantagenet of Francia, and known as Angevin Kings of England. The male line from Scandinavia ended then.

Edit, actually it is Stephen who had a french father first. His mother is more viking.

Also the Romanov Dynasty had a big part in making Russia what it is. And I dont think they are scandinavian origin

And also the Kingdom of Sicily, as with England was only in Male Scandinavian hands for a short time. Again, one of their daughters married the Holy Roman Emperor, and they conquered it shortly afterwards, and after them it passed into French Plantagenet Angevin hands.

Well also, if I am not mistaken, William the Conqueror was like a 5 th generation viking himself.

As I have stated in a previous post, when the Normands conquered England they certainly were not "Vikings" anymore. They were French with a viking background, i.e. Normands.

North men

i'll tryto dig something up i remember reading. Either way it believe it was the romans who sent Cimbri spies into a confirmed celtic peoples camp to bring back information. Obviously if th cimbri were speaking a germanic language they would not have been able to blend into the celts and understand what they were plotting. I know this was used by other historians to argue for the case of them being celts instead of Germanic.

But yeah there is confusion because the romans and greeks would sometimes haphazardly just lump in people north of them as gauls, germans celts etc,etc

That's very interesting I never heard of this..

I am 50% viking. I guess that means i am half goat, half human.

Strongest goats:
1. Mongols
2. Huns

You already forgot about Attila? The scourge of God? Shame on you. Usa, wha happened to you?

North men

Indeed. I am writing it this way to underline that they hailed from Normandy.

BTW as far as I know, the Duché of Normandy's ruling lineage is the following :

Rollo > Guillaume "Long Sword" > Richard "Fearless" > Richard II > Robert I > Guillaume the Conqueror.

While Rollo was clearly a pagan (although later a convert christian) viking born in Scandinavia, Richard "Fearless" is the first to stop calling himself a "Jarl" and rather a "marquis".

Richard "Fearless" also had to be sent someplace in his youth to "learn the language of his ancestors".

This tells me that the third generation ruling class had already mostly assimilated with the local culture of "Romano-Franks".

Guillaume the Conqueror was probably less Viking than people from Boston are Irish.

By way things are happening, it's safe to assume that the Vikings were the 1st to be afflicted with white privilege & adapted the culture of others so they won't get called out by their constituents.

That, or they indulged in cultural appropriation.

In any case, IMO the French and the English should demand reparations from the Normands.

I say we start shaming them on social networks.

ISIS is doing its job for them.

The vikings were no doubt badasses with excellant craftsmanship.

How did their raids fair in the medditerranean. i recall they raided some coastal regions in the levant or north africa. aside from wikipedia theres little info.

The Mongols were the best warriors ever. They easily destroyed everyone with their superior knowledge of horses and archery. They couldve easily ruled Europe they destroyed Middle east, Russia, Cemtral Asia with ease

Of course WHITE european dude wont mention the Mongols.

Mongols were e-stattin' opportunists with great tactical leadership. They conquered a bunch of useless land no one wanted. It was all timing. Catching others during internal conflicts. They tried to conqueror India... But got BLOWN the fuck out. Mongol fans like to think they could have conquered Europe, but this is not true. They would have gotten sliced and diced. Not this Eastern Euro weak shit. Talking EUROPE son.

Take away all that useless undesired nomadic land generally in the northern Eurasian provinces.. And they look much more tame.

Plus.. A Viking would demolish a Mongol one on one. The Varangians were the most sought after Mercenaries in the world. Famous for their large hulking stature, Aryan features and fearlessness berserking tendencies.

They were pwnd by Hungarian marshland. Can't use their mobility when they're bogged down.

They did conquer India. Eventually. Indians (Hindus) are still salty about this whole thing.
