Valentina would’ve gotten murdered by Weill.

Never really thought about Weili vs Shevchenko. Too much mmath in this thread for me. But I’ve said plenty of times that if Shevchenko fought Amanda again. She would have been ktfo. And I believe that. But there’s no way that trilogy happens. Shevchenko wants no part of that fight.
 
I don't feel that there is evidence to suggest Weili would have success against Valentina or even at 125. Grasso at 125 seems to be a different animal that what she displayed at 115. Plus, she has made huge strides in her ground game. Weili is very skilled and well rounded and does have power, so I'm not saying TS is wrong, but rather I feel it to be a touch premature at the moment.
 
Val just got old, it happens. She looked stuck in the mud, while Grasso looked quick, and fresh. Just be thankful she didn't fight Nunes, she would've been put out cold most likely.
 
Zhang is kind of a headcase, not sure she'd show the same mental fortitude Grasso did.

Keep in mind this is 2023 Rose as well. The one who struggled to a split decision loss against Carla Esparza.

If Rose is worried about Carla's grappling, she would be petrified against Valentina.

The coach responsible for Weili's recent grappling improvements (by which she dominated Esparza, for example) says that Weili's weight cut to 115 lbs. is quite extreme and that he expects Weili will move up to 125 lbs before long and says that she'll be very much more athletic at 125 lbs where she won't be so drained by the extreme weight cut.

Alexa won because she quickly did the right move at the right time. This can happen in such a multifaceted sport as mixed martial arts. She's definitely not a better fighter than Valentina though.
 
Valentina got old. It happens to everyone. It will happen to Weili soon too. She started out MMA in her mid 20s. Weili isn't young.

Kinda makes me wonder if she'll do even better at 125 than she has done at 115 (which she has done very well at)
 
Val would murder Welli or Rose. Val s a big flyweight n can easily fight BW . Weilli would atand little chance unless Val got tired

That would actually be a fun fight. I can't wait to watch Zhang Weili clean out her division. After that, a move to flyweight to fight the champion.

How do you expect her to clean out her division when she already lost to Rose twice. Not to mention she's almost 34 already.
 
Always thought Val vs. Weill was a mismatch, but after vals last two fights... I'd like to see it.

Well, as of their last fights, I've never seen Weili look so good and I've never seen Namajunas look so bad. Rose won by split -decision in their rematch. Not exactly a convincing win.

You know that doesn't make any sense right? Weili looked good because she wasn't facing Rose, and Rose looked so bad because she was facing Carla. People thought Weili looked great against Joanna and Andrade, then she faced Rose and lost twice.

We already know what a fight between Rose and Weili looks like. Weili isn't clearing out the division.
