In my personal estimation, you're attributing a lot of prefrontal cortex bandwidth to justify the motivations of the actions of someone in the middle of a fistfight as some sort of subterfuge. I think she's honestly just relaxing but not appearing limp. Saying she'd only have done one vs 3 every now and then seems sort of silly (to me). Not that what you describe wouldn't be a useful mental tactic, potentially, but risking looking like you're tapping (especially when you're winning) to fool your opponent into letting go of a 75% submission would seem very odd to me.

I'm willing to be wrong, but I think the forethought that went into that was "don't look like you're out" and wait it out.

I wasn't even that mad, but the fight was the definition of lay n pray. I know she wants to secure the win, but at the very least she could beat her up a bit on the ground.

1. That fight was absolutely awful. By today's standards, that's about the most egregious "lay n pray" you'll see. And watching Valetina celebrate after like she did something amazing made it worse.
2. In the moment, I absolutely thought those were fake taps. And on replay, I still think they're fake taps.
