So it looks like he will fight the winner of Dubois-Parker and then will only fight once more, i suspect it may be against Opetaia which will be a shame for me as i think its a massive step down in quality from who he has been fighting

Not the most exciting champion to watch but a fantastic character, i understand people not liking how he fights but i have never seen anyone say they dont like him as a person, he will be missed

After he fights the Dubois/Parker winner he should ride of in the sunset...nothing left to prove. UNDISPUTED!

oh man, i get what you're saying but i totally disagree!

i love watching him fight, the technical masterclass he puts on every time is a thing of beauty.

i know i'm in the minority here, people prefer exciting KO artists, but he has so many awesome fights! the man never stops working, he's like an energizer bunny and he does it all with clean technique. the smaller guy in all his HW fights, boxing everyone's ears off. it's awesome!

oh no no no, you misunderstand, i love watching him fight as well, i just know he has people who dont like his style of fighting, i think he is an artist who nobody can figure out yet, and i would love to see him retire undefeated and be one of the great "what if's" when we talk about these fantasy match-ups, because we can all sit here and say Lennox would have been too big(same got said about Fury and Joshua) and Evander would have too much heart...but is a great fighter

yeah i think my most controversial boxing opinions are that usyk would've beaten evander, and prime golovkin would've beaten hagler.

i bet some people choke on their drinks when they read this.

i think a lot of people really under-estimate how good Usyk is, he has beaten the best 2 HW fighters from the past 10 years, if he has to fight Dubois again we could say 3.

Not many fighters have ever done that, he is clearing out weight classes

I knew he only had a couple fights left. Turki revealed this weeks ago. Usyk is 38 now and has already accomplished everything he set out to do. Retirement is looming. It looks like he'll fight the Dubois vs Parker winner next. Who knows who he'll fight afterwards assuming he wins. I'm not that interested in an Opetaia fight. It's a bad idea for Usyk to move back down to cruiser in the twilight of his career. Unless Opetaia is willing to meet him at heavy to make the fight happen.

As for his style I've said myself that he can be rather boring at times. He took a soviet amateur style and adapted it to the pros. The same goes for Bivol. The latter still has his amateur coach in his corner as a professional. With that said, whenever Usyk starts walking these much bigger guys down and beating them up it's a different story. That's ballsy and there's nothing boring about it. This is a natural cruiserweight, who isn't even a puncher, going around hunting giants—some of whom can seriously crack with either hand. You don't see this very often.

Well the man is 38, he's not a young lad anymore. He did more than you can ever imagine in relatively short period of time as a HW.

So good on him. Fight the guys you need to cement your legacy and have a huge pay day that comes with it. And then sail off to the sunset.

He wants no part of Zhang
Maybe if Zhang had beaten Parker he'd be the one fighting Dubois next. Usyk is already set to fight the winner. Not sure if you realize this but Zhang will be 42 in a few months. The guy is very old and his stamina is really bad. It'd be a dangerous fight for Usyk but only for about 5 or 6 rounds. After the first half it'd be target practice for Usyk.

i honestly see zhang as the dark horse of the division. he can beat anyone, on any given night. he will also lose most fights against the top guys, but he's always a live dog.

dude was over 40 when he beat joyce and wilder, and i think i felt he should've been given the hrgovic decision at the time.

but i'll have to agree with the sentiment here that usyk should retire now. he'll probably win his last 2 fights, but i'd rather he didn't risk it. dubois rematch / parker fight isn't going to elevate his status, he's already achieved everything there is to achieve in the sport. losing won't change anything, but there is the added glamour of going out undefeated.

Zhang is the dark horse of the division but his flaws are glaring. Especially his conditioning. Usyk would play it safe over the first half and then take him into deep waters and drown him. He makes opponents work at such a high pace and these giants aren't able to keep up with him. Zhang would have to work twice as hard against him and his stamina is already bad enough as it is.

I've been saying for a while now that Usyk should retire. Like you said beating Dubois again or Parker won't elevate his status much. The risk of losing his undefeated record just isn't worth it. Some guys just don't know when to walk away.

Chisora said: “That Ukrainian guy gives you PTSD. He made my young brother [Joshua] cry on the stage, he made Tyson Fury retire. Nobody can deal with him. I sat down with him a couple of weeks ago. I asked him where he lives now, he said: ‘Ukraine. Yesterday my security told me to go in the bomb shelter but I said ‘no’. Rockets are flying past my house but me, I sleep.'

“When he’s telling me this story, I ask myself, ‘What do you have to have to beat him?’ The guy is lying down and rockets are flying past his house. While you’re in your big house in Knightsbridge where the only problem you have is taxis beeping outside your door. How do you beat a guy like that? You have to have craziness.”

He’s ‘the’ generational talent of this period. Not only is he undisputed at 2 weights and gave up huge physical disadvantages at HW, he also did everything the hard way. Giving all the concessions to his opponents and still beating them easily. This is unlike every single one of his p4p peers, who pick and choose, who, where and when they fight their main rivals. An ATG imo and without doubt the best boxer of the last 10 years if you take everything he’s done in to account. No one else does what usyk does

As much as I love watching him fight I’m glad he’s retiring in a couple of fights. There is nothing else he can achieve, he’s already done it all

The other P4Pers use any leverage that they have at the negotiation table. Usyk never needed to. Some of them obviously take it too far and completely stack the deck in their favor. They'll cherry pick and dictate every term there is to try and handicap their opponents any way they can. Usyk is the antithesis of this. I've always liked that about him. He's a breath of fresh air from the diva "businessmen" in this sport.

For Chisora to call someone crazy really means something, the bloke is madder than a box of frogs yet thinks Usyk is mental....lol

Uysk gets dropped and ko'd early. Zhang is also a southpaw and just as crafty, also the biggest puncher uysk ever faced.
