Usman vs Buckley scorecard

Lol... impact of shots does score higher, but I didn't see round 4 for Buckley. Would have to watch again if I were interested, but it doesn't change anything, so I'm not.

I'm not sure why R1 wasn't a 10-8. 10/8s were supposed to be utilized more according to interviewz by rool makerz. Teh fook doez a 10-8 look like if not that?

Usman didn't get hit at all, & though his GnP wasn't completely devastating, he landed a lot of decent shots. That alone might not sway a 10-8, but for sure leaking his blood all over the octogon should've. Spilling blood is teh highest of judging criteria.

I remember thinking R2 was subject to a 10-8 as well.

100 of us can all watch the same fight and have 100 slightly different opinions about what happened.

It's a whole lot different watching a fight cageside with a fixed view. That doesn't excuse downright incompetence, but we really get twisted up around here over 1 or 2 partially different viewpoints.

It’s a mixture of some corruption and some incompetence. Ruins careers and takes half of a fighters paycheck. Never leave it in the hands of the judges though amirite?
That’s the risk you take when your style of fighting or gameplan is reliant on winning rounds. Jorge Masvidal figured that out 30 fights into his career, then he started taking a little bit of risk and look where that got him.

Yes. I watched the fight and if I recall correctly Usman never hit a take down until there was about 1:40 left in the round he was getting pieced up before that.
I just rewatched the 4th round. I think you need to rewatch it and score the round. Buckley threw a lot of wide loopy power shots that completely whiffed. Usman landed 2 or 3 solid hard shots and Buckley landed the same....until Usan took him down and dominated him on the ground.

There is absolutely no way you can say Buckley "Pieced Him Up". I can understand watching and rooting for someone and seeing it thru that lens but objectively Usman won 1-4 and it can't be justified for someone who is supposed to be objective (Mike Bell MMA Judge) to score that for Buckley.

scored it for buckley

Based on what? Did you rewatch it or was this your thought live on first watch while rooting for a specific guy?

What in the scoring criteria leads you to a score for Buckley?
live watch, I thought buckley landed the better strikes, I can only remember usman on top for about 1 1/2 mins doing no damage on the ground. i dont care enough to rewatch or rescore it. When i watched the fight i scored it 48-47 usman. though 48-46 usman is reasonable with a 10-8 in round 1. stats reflect exactly what i mean and I did not have access to them when i first watched the fight. lying on people after getting out struck for more than half the round isn't a win.

Mike bell doesn't get to rewatch when he gives a score, the score i gave is the score i gave when watching it.

Do you watch as a "Fan" or as a Judge? Who were you rooting for? Were you drinking and eating while the fight is on? Do you score it in your mind as it is happening like a judge? Or do you just go based on "Feel".
I had no dog in the fight at all. I like Buckley and Usman just fine maybe even favour Buckley based on his style but Usman won the 4th clear as day.

I watch it as andre
I didn't have a horse in the race
I dont drink but i do smoke weed, but that fight was on at 1 am and i was in bed watching it
I go based on feel.

I disagree it was clear as day. Damage is subjective i saw more from buckley.

OK. Let me know what exactly it is you smoke because it must be really good to detach you from all reality.

Its great that you have the philosophy that damage should be what wins rounds. I agree. You simply are wrong. Buckley did not land any damaging strikes at all. He landed 3 solid shots. So did Usman. Until 2:20 left in the round and Usman then shoots for a TD and control while landing more and more strikes. You philosophy is valid. You assesment of what happened is not.

What is 100% sure is that Usman dominated most of the fight and Sherdog took an L for writing him off like they mostly did. He won't be champ, but he is surely a factor in the division.

I had it 49-45 Usman but I can see giving Buck the 4th round which it would be 48-46 Usman. Buckley clearly lost though. Imagine scoring that fight for Buck. <Dany07>

I'm sure it's all a racket, I wouldn't be surprised if the judges are working with the UFC who are working for betting companies. Any way to go from making an insane amount of money to more insane amounts of money. Being rich isn't enough, need to take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take and take.
