Usman vs Buckley scorecard

For a long time judges would watch cage side without a screen. They werent watching from the same vantage as the rest of the world.

Can anyone confirm if judges watch for a screen nowadays? I haven't been to a live event in a long ass time.

Also, we will never admit it, but we get influenced by the announcers. They get influenced by the crowd.

I'm not defending the judges, because they suck and it all feels shady regardless

I scored it that way. buckley won round 4. usman only laid on him for 1:30 doing no damage. buckley did more damage in that round
Usman had 2:18 min of top control and outlanded him 20-11. All strikes were standing with Zero while on ground. How is getting outstruck nearly 2:1 and getting controlled on the ground for almost half the round winning the round?

Had it 49-45. I have one of the rds a 10 to Usman and last rd to Buckley.

Yes. I watched the fight and if I recall correctly Usman never hit a take down until there was about 1:40 left in the round he was getting pieced up before that.

Usman wants a title shot for laying on a guy after not winning in four years.

that's UFC's stupid booking for creating that problem. why book a guy who is on a 6 fight win streak vs a guy on a 3 fight losing streak? only UFC's logic can figure that out

I mean, Usman clearly won the first 3 rounds. Buckley clearly won the 5th.

The only round that was pretty close was round 4. I thought Usman did enough to win, but I don't think it was "horrible" to score that round for Buckley.

It was either 3-2 Usman or 4-1 Usman (4-1 Usman in my opinion)

Official Result: Kamaru Usman defeats Joaquin Buckley by unanimous decision (49-46, 49-46, 48-47)

The best part is they were trying to say Usman wasn't landing sug strikes on the ground as he cut and reopened Buckleys cut in 4/5 rounds.

Reopening a previous cut doesn't count as damage in that round.

Usman did a lot of laying and praying.

Funny how people decide some fights wrestling counts, then others only striking matters. I feel schizo with how many opposite takes for scoring here. Not too long ago, Pereira won rounds getting outwrestled.

Outlanded 2:1 so how is hitting your opponent twice for every one they land getting pieced up?
with 2:20 left in the round Usman shoots and works a double against the cage. Then puts Buckley on his ass with 1:52 in the round. So in the 2:40 it was on the feet Usman hits him 20 times to Buckley's 11. Not one time was Usman rocked in the round to justify giving him the round.

Damage you say? One guy was bleeding and cut and one guy was not.
You are not being objective. Just because you wanted Buckley to win doesn't mean he did.

It’s a mixture of some corruption and some incompetence. Ruins careers and takes half of a fighters paycheck. Never leave it in the hands of the judges though amirite?
Never leave it in the hands of the judges?, every fucking fighter seems to want to leave it to the judges these days

Stop it, please. We don't need to ruin the sport with handing out 10-8s willy nilly
I don't know what's the proper way to score rounds like these but I agree with the other dude that a dominant clear winner of the round should get some extra points for that because otherwise if you get another that's razon thin close and it goes to another guy by coin toss then they are even? One guy dominating the first and the other is basically even and the fight is even? No, the fight shouldn't be even. Maybe do half points, whatever, but what's ruining the sport is not handing out 10:8s but not awarding dominant rounds as they should be awarded. There should be a distinction between a clear winner that's dominating the round and a fucking draw round or one that was basically won by another guy by one significant leg kick more. You catch my drift I hope.

I don't know how to make it fair if not giving 10:8, maybe score a fight as a whole or have longer first round like in Pride, whatever it is. I just don't agree with giving every round 10:9 because that's what's ruining the sport most often than not.
