It's MMA takedowns only score if it's followed by offence.

Let's be honest, he hasn't broken his wrist. He hurt it when Usman slammed him on it and wanted an excuse for gassing after a round. He is shaking hands and fist pumping fans with it before and after he says that on camera.

I can accept 30-28 at best for Khamzat. He didn't win 2 or 3, draws at best for him. I would have gave 29-28 Usman.

He already said he can be booked to fight, it doesn't appear to have been broke. He just said it to excuse squeeking by Usman after one good round.

Round 1 was 10-8 for Chimaev
Round 2 was a 10-9 for usman

Round 3 could go either way. Either 29-27 for khamzat or 28-28. Anything else is super wrong

I understand the logic but i don t see how Usman won 2 and 3. Helanded like 3 punches and a low kick the entire fight. None of which did much damage. In 2 or 3 he got taken down and GnPounded, which didn t amount to much but still more.

But i like fair rules for every one.
And there is too much shady decisions in abu dabi. Weight scandals, inconsistency (Walker fight, khazmat fight)

No guy had a fractured or broken wrist. He took him down in later rounds too and usman was gased more then khamzat he was mostly punching air on 3rd round

To me, the main factor in this fight is the 'back of the head' rule. Usman did an outstanding job of only exposing the back of his head. Khamzat also did a great job of avoiding it so he didn't get DQed or a point taken. What does this create? A round like round 1. Make no mistake about it, Khamzat was pretty dominant, but he couldn't really do any damage due to the rule. It's annoying that people are stupid enough to call it "lay and pray", because realistically, Usman is the one exploiting the rule set and praying for a standup, point deduction, or DQ.

Jed Meshew's score? is norml. 10-8, 9-10, 10-8 is my guess as to how Jed came up with that one.

I'd respect the scores of journalists so much more if they watch the fights on mute.

I wish the UFC provided an option to watch the fights without commentary. Most of the time they're not 'biased' but they can draw too much attention to some aspects of the fight while completely ignoring others.

That's not neccessarily criticism, because that's unavoidable no matter who's in the booth.

It'd be very interesting if there were 20 journalists that'd watch & score the fights with the commentary on.... and 20 with it off but still able to hear the impact of the shots, because the sound can be a great indicator for the impact.

I've been wishing for this forever, ever since I started getting sick of Rogan, but all of them are pretty bad now. UFC would never give up that control over its branding though.

Wait….that never happens. Fights being draws happen when you have a 10-8. For 2 rounds to be scored a draw you need a 1/100000 event.
