US Government Shutdown

It seems both sides want Daca , the republicans are using it to try and pressure the dems , it's gamesmanship , negotiating something like this is supposed to be about compromise , they essentially are not giving up anything and wanting something in return imo

I've ranted about immigration when it comes to the election and the GOP in the past but essentially, I think the issue is far less apart then the media makes it out to be. The GOP is stuck with this fraction of the voter base that cheers for no amnesty but isn't for deportation either with current residents. It's stupidity and the reality is both parties want to get some type of amnesty bill passed. I use to think early in the election Trump might be the only thing to wreck that but based on some pivots he tried to make in the general and things he said during that open meeting, I really don't think he is going to stop it either. He just wants credit for certain parts of the reform like merit based system and whatever enhanced border security (even if it may not be effective). That easily should be achievable but you now have this weird dynamic of the things being leaked where dems may want to agree to some things but now they have trouble as it may look like it's compromising with a racist. I do think some headway in narrative is arriving beyond just the wall talk with immigration which is hopefully a strong sign it's achievable. I just can't say how or when it happens

It's not a compromise if both sides want it

Keep in mind what happened here. Obama put DACA in place as a short-term fix to Congress doing nothing about immigration reform. Trump essentially repealed it for the same reason. I wouldn't take him at his word but the action was for Congress to come up with an immigration bill by the deadline of March.

This is a sidenote but I think this actually goes into another level of fuckery with the immigration bill. Trump and the GOP would want a bill passed likely before midterms. Dems likely would not want it done until after. This leaves Dems wanting to push for a short-term fix (DACA) and republicans trying to let it come up on it's expiration in March with more leverage to finally pass an immigration bill before midterms. This is just speculation but if I'm going to have to imagine what all this petty crap is, this is my guess. Despite it being a stalemate, poltiicans are jockeying for credit of something that is inevitable.

utter incompetence by the GOP isnt exactly new and different.
Utter incompetence by the Democrats. Desperation to control Congress.

It seems both sides want Daca , the republicans are using it to try and pressure the dems.
The Democrats want DACA not the Republicans. Well, now the Democrats have managed to shut the Government down. DACA has more to do with getting Democratic votes to save the party than anything else.

Ryan and McConnell both support DACA.

This isn't true.

the majority of americans want a pathway to citizenship for dreamers, its only you retards at the_donald who are against it

No they don't, lol. I don't know why some of you believe the lies that you tell yourselves so passionately.

The majority of American states do not want a pathway for dreamers. It's mostly Democrats in California, New York and Illinois.

Um. Yes they do. I think it's around 70 or so percent want DACA beneficiaries legalized.

That's why he's a billionaire and nobody will ever know who you are. You will die and nobody will care you existed within a few years.

Check your venom.

Well, considering you can say this about 99.99 percent of people on earth, this is a pretty poor insult.

Mcconnell, Ryan and Trump have all said they have to do something about it. Ryan said it almost a year ago. Trump said just two weeks ago he would sing any bill the brought to him. Please be better informed here.

Check your venom indeed

So, why did the Democrats not bring Trump a bill to be signed?
because he told him he wouldnt sign it. they had a bill and he told them he didnt like it. yes, he literally will take back what he says just hours later. this has happened multiple times just in the last weeks.

American two party system seems to be at a breaking point.
Parties have been getting weaker, slowly but steadily, for a long time. Independents make up almost 40% now. IMO this is why populist candidates are doing well right now. People say the two party system is broken, but it is being broken by Independent voters. So on one hand the two party system is to blame because it isn't holding together, but on the other hand, the wave of populism is what is breaking it, and it is not rational.

No, it isn't.

Prove it.

A poll of 1000 people is not proof.
>prove it
>also I won't accept the most feasible form of evidence

Fine. Using the same standard, prove that

Fine. Using the same standard, prove that

"Feasible form of evidence" is a CNN poll of 1000 people.

Yet somehow you got "MOST AMERICANS" from 1000 people. .

There are 320,000,000 humans in America.

Mine is a lot easier to prove just by using logic.

A majority of states voted for Donald Trump who takes a very hard line against illegal immigrants. I have a sample of 60 million. At the very least they don't give a fuck about Illegal immigration, at the least. Few people would vote for Trump and be in favour of illegal immigration.
