Wapo nails it. The last 24 hours have been hilarious watching the partisan hacks on the left try and defend the horrible decision making in "their" (read: not theirs) party. Now we're starting to get info from people involved in the negotiations.

If you don't realize that Schumer is an idiot then you have some serious issues that need to be addressed outside of Sherdog.

Was just reading about the backlash Dems are facing from the left over agreeing to fund the government. TBH I can hardly believe they made such a strategic blunder in trying to attach DACA to the CR in the first place. There is no way that ever worked out in their favor. The GOP loves it some govt. shutdown and in this case they could even blame it on the other side. Now the Dems have to sooth the sore bums of a livid base whose dashed hopes they irrationally stoked. SMH

Democrats have a mandate from their voters to resist Republicans. It's not going to hurt them at all, especially with how short the shutdown was. This one was a freebie for them, and if it actually leads to DACA being signed, it's a win for everyone politically, because it's a very popular idea.

I think only one party has taken it so far their actions and motives need to be reviewed by the Supreme Court.

I think they believed their own hype, and thought it would be blamed on Trump. Then those polls started rolling in. It was a gamble, but a very, very poor one. DACA is an issue, but not one to shut the government down on. And now they're left having to explain themselves to the far lefties, who think they caved on an important issue.

Complete shit show for the Dems, and it was so easily avoidable.
