Griffin's tweet is written in a way that misleads people into thinking Halper wasn't an FBI informant planted into the Trump campaign. If you don't think it's misleading, please explain why so many of the Twitter responses to Griffin's tweet look like this:

<Dany07>

This is hilarious that youre so butthurt over a tweet thats exactly in the story. What a strange thing to argue about.
The most hilarious thing is that you got so excited by the tweet that you stuck that silly Michael Jordan gif after it, as if this story is somehow damaging to Trump's narrative of the Halper situation. Why did you put that gif on it? This one:

Its amusing that he was offered a job in the administration. Is this why you've been so furiously quoting me the last three pages? Because of a gif?

Why is it amusing that a foreign policy expert with decades of experience in Asian relations would be recommended for an ambassadorship in Asia? That makes no sense.

Because he was also the evil spy setting Trump up us the bomb the entire time!!

Setting Trump up the bomb? Is that an actual phrase? I think I'm too old for the phrases you guys are using these days. Please re-phrase in English that I can understand. Thank you for your patience.

Because it sure sounds like the someone is trying to get navarro fired

Ok. I guess I can understand that interpretation. However, based on the huge trail of Twitter responses to Griffin's tweet, it appears you're alone in your interpretation here.

It's actually reference to an old meme and you're probably too young for it honestly.

Probably one of the first true memes on the internet.

Maybe he had a panic attack while posting it?
I did laugh out loud at that visual.

More generally, I am finding it harder and harder to understand the views of the vocal anti-Trump crowd these days. I am making a genuine effort to understand but it's just not happening very often.

Famous line from famously remembered badly translated japanese video game Zero Wing, turned internet phenomenon with many different parodies of the original sega game

This one? Cool. I only knew about "all your base are belong to us."

Could you please explain his comment to me? I do not know what "setting Trump up us the bomb" means.

I have no clue.

I meant the being a desirable asset who appears to be a respected person, but also doesn’t draw too much attention or set off too many red flags.

Look at all these youngins acting like grown ups.

I was there when the internet came alive. Where were you?

Asking permission to cross the street?

The "humor" of Griffin's tweet still makes no sense. Foreign policy expert gets recommended for a foreign policy job. He also happens to be an FBI informant. Hilarious!??

I don't think he was trying to be funny, just sharing a recent development on a newly relevant character in one of the most interesting news stories of our lifetimes.

Joe thought it was funny.

That's different.

I hope this helps.
