I like the changes to down opponents. It probably won't happen but I hope the change to the 12 to 6 elbows leads to more fighters trying to GNP instead of just trying to improve position for control time. The goal would be to see more people try and mount to get the 12 to 6 elbows and if not they would try to flow into submissions.

Did you watch the video sir?

True. It's a damn shame tho.
No it is not. You follow the rules that are presented to you. If you break them, you suffer the repercussions. That is what makes an organized sport, a sport.

If you make that statement, maybe Jon should have lost to Glover when he skull-fucked him with his fingers. In fact, that would be more legitimate since it was, and now, a rule.

I don't see the 12-6 elbow rule having a drastic effect on MMA. It will be nice for the fighters to have one less thing to worry about though.

The grounded opponent change will have a bigger impact I think, because it will open fighters up to be attacked while getting up. You might see more fights end when someone is trying to stand up, and also you might see more guys content to lie on their back for longer and wait for a very safe opening to stand up or for the ref to stand him up.

They should legalize late stoppages.

Or legalize it if both fighters agree to it beforehand.

Imagine two fighters that hate each other agree to it contractually beforehand to allow for a late stoppage regardless of who is on the receiving end of it.

It would definitely incentivize finishing the fight.

My sympathy is for Matt.

Should've been a tko way before the illegal elbow but the ref wanted to see a deaf man get killed in the octagon.
I can see your point, but Matt is a tough man...I don't think he'd want our sympathy tbf sir.

Anyone that gets in the cage knows the potential consequences which are at times pretty brutal.

Much love sir.
