Media Update: Dillion Danis submitted by a security guard (Video)

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

DESTROYED. Fucking pussy.

The guy in the Zion jersey was touching his eye. So I’m guessing Danis cheap shorted him at some point prior to this.

as a trained guy... pretty easy to rear naked choke somebody from behind... Also, half of my gym were bar security guards... A TON of bar security guards are trained now. Not a Dillon Danis fan... but unless the video shows the altercation beginning to end.. the end result doesn't mean alot... with 5 patrons/guards standing around a downed guy.

I don't really have an opinion on this to share other than the bolded bit, which just goes to show why it's so colossally fucktarded to get into an altercation with randos these days. Even putting aside the threat of weapons and escalation, you have no clue what anyone is capable of these days. I mean that's always been true to an extent, but even more so now I would argue.

UFC champion BJ Penn getting knocked out cold by a random fat guy. BJJ specialist/MMA fighter Dillon Danis getting choked by a security guard. "Power puncher" Conor McGregor not being able to knock out an old man with a sucker punch. Folks, MMA is fake.
To be fair to BJ he didnt have his guard up

GAS STATION ALTERCATION

In July 2013, Falcão (205 pounds,28 wins by KO) and a fellow MMA fighter Kauê Mena (5'11) became involved in a struggle inside a gas station's convenience store in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina after Falcão assaulted a female customer. Moments after striking the alleged assault, a relative of the victim came into the store and attempted to punch Falcão, missing, and Falcão knocked him to the ground. As Falcão attempted to flee the scene of the crime, he and Mena were confronted outside the gas station and surrounded by three or four male relatives and friends of assault victim. As one of the men punched Mena another hit Falcão with a piece of wood from the front, knocking him out. Falcão was then kicked backwards while receiving more strikes with the makeshift weapon. During this time Mena is punched and kicked while he is on the ground unconscious. Mena was in serious condition at an intensive care unit and Falcão had only minor injuries. A few days after the struggle, Renovação Fight Team coach Marcelo Brigadeiro expelled Falcão and Mena from the team. The fight also led to his release from Bellator. In an interview after the incident, Falcão claimed that the two fighters had come to the gas station from a bar to purchase more alcohol. While inside, Falcão admits to making sexual advances towards the young girl. He then admitted to striking the young girl because, he claims, she made racial slurs directed at him. Falcão later apologized to Mena's family as well as the MMA community. Kauê Mena has all but retired from mixed martial arts as he is unable to even go outside without help

Kauê Mena is 5'11 and Falcao has fought at heavyweight yet they were almost killed by 3-4 random cara é louco

God that's embarrassing. This guy is such a clown, a clout chaser. He isn't interested in fighting, he just wants to reap the rewards that come with it without the effort.

Was Dillon sober? Was he fighting back with intent?

If we're going by street infractions, then BJ Penn sucks as a fighter because some dude KO'ed him, Conor McGregor has no power because an old man shrugged off a punch and Bisping is a coward, loser, since someone punched him in the face in New Orleans and he didn't retaliate... Does this make Bisping a bitch? Does it make him scared? Does it mean he has no poise to fight intelligently?

I'm pretty confident Danis would kill that bouncer, if he fought him face to face, sober. I don't like Danis at all, but this is my opinion.
This isn't the only fight in a club/bar where there is video footage of his altercation. It just shows he isn't comfortable in these situations, he's better in a sport setting primarily grappling only. His striking isn't anywhere as good as his grappling so it's still a major weak point for him. You can't play the same sport bjj game you would do on soft mats as you can on concrete and hard floors.

Like I said before, you overestimate his abilities in real situations just because he has success in sport bjj competitions. 2 completely different worlds.

Yeah, but notice how it’s always a bar or club, places where you’d be drinking liquor? He was likely buzzed or drunk.

I know sport jiu jitsu isn’t fighting, but Danis has actually fought one pro fight and won. He spars with MMA fighters, I’m confident he could beat up the bouncer who “controlled him” in the video. I’m not saying sport jitz guys automatically means a good fighter, I’ve never said nor implied such.

That's the thing about real combat situations, it doesn't matter if you are sober, drunk, ready, not ready, feeling good, sick, etc. He looks like he fought some one else and was taken down by security. One of the guys in the jersey turns around and rubs under his eye, looks like Dillon got a punch in on him and the other guy with the man bun is also a worker there. He's helping with the situation and he has a white towel in his pocket. It's usually what servers/bar people have on them at all times while working since they are constantly wiping something down from spilled drinks/etc. He also helped secure him with the other security and keep the area clear from other people.

Sport jitz has it benefits, but by itself it isn't complete in modern mma or street fighting situations. Everything changes when there is a hard floor/concrete and there are strikes being thrown. That's why it's best people cross train to be able to be ready for the other variables. Even training past just sport focused martial arts because real combat situations are very different.

I don't know the security's skill level but he seems to have been able to control Dillon at this moment, so I wouldn't be quick to assume Dillon can beat him because this situation the security had the upper hand and had Dillon stuck. It's just 1 security on him and not a group of security on him. Either way lots of security/bouncers train martial arts and a lot are actual fighters that compete or used to compete. Lots of UFC fighters were bouncers before fighting/training full-time.

I just don't think Dillon is good at any situation away from sport scenarios. From everything I've seen it doesn't seem like his comfort zone. Sport and real situations are very different, success in one doesn't mean success in the other and vice versa. Don Frye got KO by security/bodyguard in a hotel lobby before. Lots of situations like that happen in real life. Even Gaethje got tapped out by Nelks security when they were messing around. Some security have legit skills and a lot of their skills are more for real life combat situations and not so much sport fighting skills, even though a lot can do both and have done both as a career.

No shit. That's exactly why I had this disclaimer: "Even putting aside the threat of weapons and escalation" Unarmed skills cease to be of as much help when your opponents outnumber you, have the drop on you, and are armed. Weird case to cherry-pick. And those pieces of shit had it coming from the sound of it in any case.

I can point to any number of anecdotal cases of trained people fucking up untrained guys in street altercations, but it would be apropos of nothing and rather pointless.

2 things I find ironic about this.

1: he says he is the best fighter AND grappler in the world and he's submitted by some random security.
2: he brags about his wealth yet is in some hick bar where no-one recognises him.

Your opinion is wrong. I live in San Jose and there are a ton of MMA fighters in the area. Ive seen at least 10 get wrecked one on one in street fights. Bjj and MMA won't save you in a street fight. There's no red to stop someone stomping your face in either

Wow, Dillons stock just plummeted.

A lot of security guards and bouncers would beat UFC fighters in the streets. Its one thing to fight in cage with rules and regulations, and whole different world what these people deal with on a daily basis.

Not a fan of Danis lol but this theory is crap for the most part. If Jon Jones does not have to abide by any rules on the street he could easily kill people or severely injure them. I mean Roger Huerta easily dropped a college lineman who had like 100 pounds on him.
