Upcoming Games (PC-centric Edition)

So sad that we've not heard anything about The Last Night

Release Date: TBA (Beta releases 2023)
The debut IP by the newly formed Frost Giant Studios born from an exodus of senior Blizzard developers. This includes Tim Campbell, James Anhalt, Ryan Schutter; many of the chief creatives behind Warcraft III and Starcraft II. It appears to be a MOBA, but it may also include elements of RTS such as Warcraft III and other overhead Blizzard games in that genre before it. Bolstering the theory that it isn't a pure MOBA is the fact Frost Giant has stated it will include a full campaign and co-op multiplayer. They have also promised an editor mode as robust as in Warcraft III (which gave birth to the MOBA genre itself with DOTA). It will be free-to-play, but the leaders of this new artist-formed studio have promised it won't be play-to-win.

Looks cool .I would play games if I had the time. I only play my snes classic. Might get that sega genesis mini and that ps1 mini for crash bandicoot. I havent really been a gamer since 2013 when I owned an xbox 360. I occasionally play fifa at other peoples house on the newer XBoX.

Telltale games really are just glorified choose-your-own adventure games. It's like a cross between those books and a cartoonish movie. You read/listen to the dialogue of other characters, then you make choices that define your character, and determine how the story unfolds. There's very little actual gameplay. No learning curve. So it's little different than watching the TV show itself, but you have more agency.

There's also the perk that most Telltale games eventually come to mobile platforms (pretty much every platform, really). So you'll probably be able to play it on your phone at some point.

Not to be confused with its prequel 2016 release by the same name, or the 2019 sequel to that, Layers of Fear 2. This is apparently just Layers of Fear 3, a prequel sequel, telling the origin story, but they're doing the super duper cool hipster thing where you avoid the facile sensibility of numbering to avoid the stigma of serialization...for a serialized game. Oh well, still looks cool, and the first two got really high marks on Steam.
