Signings/Scouting Unsigned Heavyweights, v.4

Anyanwu probably needs one more win but Teed is alright and its a good win for Azunna.

Copeland wins

Copeland's opponent was not even remotely on his level. Copeland looked like Anderson Silva in that fight. Good warmup though, I say have Copeland fight Caio Alcenar in WSoF next, winner gets Jordan/Ivanov winner.

Daniel Spitz steps in on late notice to fight Mark Godbeer at UFC 209.

This is why I doubt they will ever have another TUF HW season. There's about 8 North American heavies left on my list, and the general idea is to just sign a guy at HW rather than deplete the pool with TUF and see how he does.

They should have an international one.

They should have an international one.

An east Euro/Russian HW TUF would be crazy. While the North American field is low on UFC ready heavies, that region has a ton.

Would be a good intro to the Russian market. They can hold the finale there.

Tom Aspinall has left MMA and is pursuing a full time career in pro boxing.

Tomasz Czerwiński 8-15 vs. Phil De Fries 12-5
Ruben Wolf 11-8 vs. James Mulheron 10-1
Cesar Stubbert Cortez 8-3 vs. Luis Delgadillo 2-0
Nathan Bryant 6-5 vs. Alex Rozman 16-19
Cleiton Butiski 0-14 vs. André Cordeiro 2-0
Vitaly Minakov 18-0 vs. DJ Linderman 20-11

so god damn minakov and mulheron trying to redeem his only losses are the big HW fights of the week

Josh Parisian (4-1) will also be fighting Nathan Bryant (6-5) at Caged Power 11 in West Virginia this weekend.

Ante Delija and Darko Stosic are both training under Cro Cop at his gym full time now. Hopefully we get to see Delija fight again soon.

Minakov looked terrible today... Like he didn't even train, had it been someone slightly better he probably would have lost. Also, WHAT THE HELL WAS THE REF THINKING LETTING THAT FIGHT GO ON LIKE THAT? Linderman could have suffered permanent damage or worse.. Appalling performance from that ref.

Mulheron avenged his lone loss to Wolf by winning via 3rd rd TKO. Apparently he was nearly finished by Wolf in the second but survived for the comeback win.

Very poor quality video of the finish here: https://www.periscope.tv/w/1LyxBjkBRXyxN

I'm really not sold on Mulheron being anything but a lower level guy in the UFC if he got signed. He may have better luck in Bellator due to the age of Bellator's division.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but i only found out about it today - Last weekend Ivan Shtyrkov won a decision over Rodney Wallace.

According to interview with Minakov before his fight with Linderman he doesn't like Bellator's money, said that even guys who lost to him in title fights received more money than him for the win and said that Bellator's pay = cost of his training camp. He remembered that media reported fake news that he signed with UFC and was scheduled to fight in December. Said the he wanted to return to Bellator, said that he thinks that he will fight in Bellator this year they just need to polish some details in new contract (said that he and his team wants better pay and reduction of the fights in his current contract). Said that he doesn't want to fight Fedor and that it's more likely that he will fight Kharitonov but he doesn't want to fight fellow Russians for entertainment of American public. Also said that if opportunity presents itself he would be interested in testing himself in UFC.
About contract with Bellator said that when he signed he was ready to sign it at any conditions. About negotiations he said that when they negotiated, this negotiations ended with nothing, after that he talked with Cocker and they understanded each other. I like the Mostert/Mustard fight coz it's a good gauge of where Mostert is, right now. If Van Zyl demolished Mustard quickly, I'd expect Mostert to at least finish him, doesn't have to be early.

William Hoffmann 8-2 vs Richard Odoms 11-3 added to LFA6 march 10th on axs tv

I agree that's a good #1 contender fight Copeland vs alencar

Mukhomad vakhaev 4-4 vs tanner boser 12-2 added to acb 54

Now that both contracts have been signed, Tony Lopez (47-24) will be defending his KOTC Heavyweight Title against Josh Parisian (5-1) on April 29th in Wyandotte, Michigan. Josh isn't very well known around these parts but i've been watching his career since he turned pro and has gotten better with every fight. A win against a legend like Tony would be huge for his career and getting that KOTC belt wouldn't hurt either.
