Signings/Scouting Unsigned Heavyweights, v.4

Mika Faavale looks a decent prospect from Hawaai. Holds a win over Bryc Palmer (10-1) and 2 days ago looked good in stopping a debutant at AFC in 90 seconds (the fight is on fight pass). Can't find much info on him so don't know how old he is, but based on what he looks like i would guess 24-29 sort of age. Do you know his age @Paul L ?

Mika is a really good striker, comes from a boxing background. His striking is probably several levels above the local Alaskan scene, so he'll likely keep winning unless someone can get him down. In other areas of the US though, I don't think he fares that well. I think I remember him being early/mid 20's last time I checked up on him. I'll dig into it again and find his age.

What did you guys think of the guy that fought Bigfoot today? Seemed like your prototypical powerhouse brawler that looks good for a bit before gassing out and getting finished. Small HW too, if it wasn't for his muscles, he'd probably even make 185.

That's accurate. Middleweight with too much muscle. Low gas tank. Rushes guys during round 1/2 and tries to overwhelm them. He'll probably fight someone like Michal Andryszak and get a loss. But they could very well get him to 10-0 off burned out former UFC/Bellator fighters. I don't think that record would hold up outside his home promotion though.

Noblitt won.
Rossborough vs. Sopi could be a decent litmus test for Sopi I guess.

Bit of amateur news - in the IMMAF European championships, a couple of Bulgarian heavies were successful. Atanas Krastanov (2-0 Am) won the Super Heavyweight category and Daniel Galabarov (7-2 Am) won the Heavyweight category.

all this weekend's fights

Valdin Istrefi wins by round 2 TKO. Would like to see him fight Martin Merkt, or someone with a bit more skill.
Mulheron wins by TKO. I'd like to see him fight Aspinall next for the BAMMA HW title. Or against Ruben Wolf to see if he can avenge that loss.

Mulheron isnt with Bellator? Just the 1 fight deal?

Yep. Although Bellator would be a good place for him. I think the UFC would likely be a bit too much, unless they kept him fighting the bottom end of the division.

Galabarov is kind of interesting. Would like to see him start pro in 2017, or 2018 if he thinks he needs more experience. He's only 27, so his age is a plus.

sopi also lost, that closes out the interesting fighters

Long way back for Sopi now. 6-3, means he'll probably need to win like 4-5 straight to even get considered by the UFC and he's bound to run into a well-rounded guy in that time-frame who won't just brawl with him.

Arjan bhullar is fighting again, on dec. 9th

no ex-belltor fighter like he hoped for, his opponent has lost their last 2. Leroy Johnson out of michican 6-2

suposedly we can find the fight on fightnetwork in canada

Johnson is actually a good opponent though, by regional standards. His losses aren't to complete bums, and he has a good win or tow. If Arjan can take him out he's likely 1-2 wins away from a callup

EDIT - Johnson is actually an ex-Bellator fighter. He fought there once against an undefeated HW prospect they signed called Adrian Henderson (very similar fighter to Leroy, big black dude, good wrestling, pretty slow/limited) and Johnson caused a minor upset by winning a decision.

James Mulheron won via 2nd rd TKO & Phil De Fries won via 1st rd TKO.

so unsigned counts what? I have so many russians but they are always tricky because of russia orgs

because good erokihin, goltsov, pavlovich, (on the MW game, emeev is god), mineev, mokhnatkin, umiev and saidaliev

big one for upcoming fights is goltsov fights rasulov which unifies a bunch of russia stuff, and puts goltsov joining EFN the formation of most legit HW division outside the UFC in EFN

Bedford vs Rodrigues Jr. should be a good scrap. Mark Tanios is someone I always have my eye on, and I'm excited for Volkan vs May. Volkan might be better suited back at 205 if he gets back to the big show though.

According to Kharitonov Bellator prohibited him to fight this week. Bellator said that he can't fight in any country for 3 months after his KO loss and if he doesn't listen to them they will use sanctions and they can even terminate the contract according to Sergei. Dmitry Poberezhets will replace him.
