Johnson is definitely the prospect to watch here. He'd be a good signing for Titan, Bellator or UFC if he gets past a veteran like Wiuff.

Pretty dull weekend for HW fights. Wiuff vs Johnson is an awesome one though.

I just completed the long task of reviewing 3200 heavyweights in a more in depth manner than I ever have before! After 41 hours of watching footage and combing records, I've solidified the best amateurs and up and comers in the division.

I'll be posting my top 8 amateur fighters in the heavyweight division very soon, 6 of them I've posted before, and as a sneak peak I'll give a quick rundown on the two new fighters!

Steve Mowry - 6'9 athletic heavyweight Steve Mowry holds a perfect 5-0 amateur record against solid amateur competition. A IBJJF No-Gi Worlds medalist and 2014 PA Golden Gloves Heavyweight State Champion, Mowry has a strong combat sports background that compliments his lengthy frame.

Roger McCovey - A second place NJCAA wrestler and California state college wrestling champion, McCovey has only one fight to his name and hasn't even shown up on any fighter databases. With a strong debut against young amateur Amir Lacy, McCovey looked surprisingly good for someone making their amateur debut. McCovey is a lighter heavyweight, and moves well for his size. Paired with his amateur wrestling credentials and athleticism McCovey's future fights will show if he has the ability to excel as a pro.

I wrestled with McCovey on the California National Wrestling team in high school and he was a beast and was pretty damn athletic for his size, I can see him having a great mma career if he dedicates himself to it.

That's awesome, I always love insider info, thanks! I hope his debut fight actually gets added to databases, it's sort of like the event never happened except for the one youtube video on it.

After seeing Rama survive Steve Mocco's takedowns, I don't think Johnson has a chance and would be TKO'd.

Any thoughts on two of the undercard HWs fighting for Bellator tomorrow? Gzim Selmani and Alex Huddleston....solid prospects or?

KOTC - Industrial Strength on 11/22 has two Heavyweight fights.

Anthony McDonald (1-1) vs. Brett Murphy (6-3)
Joel Castillo (2-0) vs. Maurice Greene (1-1)

Does anyone have any info on Castillo? I saw he started training at Roufusport. He already has two TKO finishes. He might be one to watch.

Anyone know whatever happened to Adam Parkes. UK heavy who signed with Bellator? Seems to have vanished!

I've watched some tape on him and wasn't entirely impressed, he's also almost 32, so he has a tough road ahead after starting that late.

He's no longer with Bellator unfortunately, he did have a fight in June that he won quickly though. Parkes has been extremely injury prone, so he's been sidelined during his prime years, which is a shame since he does have potential.

Some Heavyweight fights at XFO 54 on November 22nd.

Miodrag Petkovic (32-21-1) vs. Erick Correa (4-1)
Wes Anderson (2-1) vs. Scott Hough (4-5)
Daniel James (2-1) vs. Aaron Ware (3-7)

Yes to both. Huddleston has some issues though fighting to his potential, so we'll see. Selmani is a quick finisher and is an almost total offense fighter.

Titan FC signs Jack May along with 4 other fighters. Good signing for them. Still has plenty of upside.

I'm really digging XFO. The winner of Petkovic vs Correa would be a good next step up for Blaydes too.

Fun fact, Blaydes actually fought and defeated Daniel James in round one by arm triangle choke in the amateurs, however the fight isn't listed anywhere.

Yeah I honestly like May, he had Walt Harris syndrome and didn't fight like he did outside the UFC within the UFC though.
