very uninspiring performance from Sopi. Seemed if he couldn't get the ko he didn't know what to do and how to mix it up. Luckily age is on his side and he trains at a terrific gym

Pretty much what I've been saying. He shouldn't have been the guy to put in that fight vs Gormley, Sopi needs lots of work, and like you said his age and camp will help him get there, but right now he's not ready.

Despite his inexperience, I think Curtis Blaydes would have made a bloody mess of Gormley, as opposed to having Sopi in there.

Jan Jorgensen vs Gormley next I'd assume?

After the results of the past month, I've added four new profiles that I will be filling in this weekend.

Brandon Griffin, James Mulheron, Zelimkhan Umiev, and Francis Ngannou.

Expected really. Gormley, while limited, is a good wrestler and wouldn't have risked slugging it out with the truck Sopi. I expected a Gormley decision...Sopi's dead young, though and trains at a good camp, I still expect him to improve and make the big leagues one day. It could've been worse, how many pure brawlers have we seen submitted in round 1 by a strong wrestler/grappler?

Island Fights Results:

Jonathan Ivey defeats Sammy Collingwood
Alex Nicholson defeats Chase Sherman
Dillon Cleckler defeats Richard White

Cleckler and White was hilarious. White took him down at will and mounted him, but got overpowered and reversed. Then both of them gassed. White was so gassed he basically collapsed after trying to shoot on Clecker early in the second and got pounded out.

Beast Boy vs Titties did not happen apparently.

Wow Cleckler needs more work than originally thought. and I had a feeling the beast boy fight wasn't gonna happen. Did he even weigh in this time?

I don't believe he did, it must have been scratched entirely before even weigh ins.

Also Clecker needs to get in a higher level gym, he's basically just a powerful dude with heavy hands and good aggression right now, and he can be a lot more with his athleticism. Since he's based in Florida he has ATT and the Blackzillian's as options. If not he'll probably just keep adding journeymen to his record until he ends up like Ron Sparks in Bellator.

Rooting for Lugo. He's lost a lot of weight and isn't all that terrible, but he is still a LHW with a gut. He'll need to take Huckaba down and work his submission game for a chance to win.

I agree lugo has to take the fight to the ground like mehmen did! Huckaba at 40 still dangerous in his feet

what happened to Lyubo Simeonov

Age, legal problems, accusations of fixed fights. He did some boxing/kickboxing bouts though, but nothing MMA wise after the Wes Sims thing happened.

Lugo out...

Cj leveque 8-7 now faces huckaba in wsof 16

That Lorenzo Hood guy won again, KO via slam in round 1 against some dude making his pro debut I think.

He looks a fucking scary-looking dude since moving up to HW, in terms of his appearance. Like the bastard child of Kimbo, Kimo and former WWF wrestler The Barbarian.

I'll keep an eye on him. It's too bad he got broken by Blaydes in his return fight, but then again it's Curtis Blaydes.

Updated all profiles. Added a dedication to Guram at the beginning of this thread and all future Unsigned Heavyweight threads.

At this point, aside from one or two possible fighters moving down to HW from SHW, I believe this list of heavyweights accurately displays the best 30 prospects in the division at this point in time. I can't really see any other upcoming fighters outpacing anyone here in either current fighting ability or future potential.

He won but it was a joke of a fight in terms of opposition for a guy 9-2.., I would like him to face better opponents for sure

Definitely/ He is keeping active at least and losing to Blaydes isn't a big deal really. I'd like to see him fight someone with a much closer record to his, see how he does.

Anyone know how old Hideki Sekine is? Very solid Japanese HW grappler. However i cant find out his age anywhere, got a feeling he's in the 33-38 sorta age category.
