Awesome! Tom Aspinall did as well. That's a great future matchup actually.
Nice, would be nice to see a lot of European Heavyweights under one organisation except M1 (M1 are holding onto their HW so damn hard it seems). So would be great if BAMMA managed to pick up the rest.

In amateur news, two top 5 amateur heavyweights fought tonight.

5-0 Steve Mowry (Golden Gloves champion, IBJJF medalist) defeats 4-0 JD Ramsey (NCAA Div 2 wrestler) by second round triangle choke.

Mowry is most certainly one to keep an eye on once he turns pro, then.

Dmitry Poberezhets has said he needs to win one more fight to make it to the UFC. He's like the Ukrainian Geronimo Dos Santos, inflated record fighting rookies and amateurs on the Ukrainian MMA scene.

If he needs one more fight a rematch with Denis Goltsov would be the one to make, if he wins he's boosted his stock, if he loses, Goltsov should take that spot. Their first fight was when Goltsov was only 19 years old and extremely inexperienced, a rematch would be much different.

Outside of Goltsov, he'll need to fight someone worthwhile and not a local Ukrainian fighter with a similar inflated record. Magomed Malikov, Ante Delija, Zelimkhan Umiev, or Chaban Ka would be suggestions.

I doubt this.
His record is poor, really. Doesn't matter who he fights, anyone decent will own him and anyone jobber-level won't get him a UFC contract. I never expect to see him in the big leagues.

Bellator should just let Volkov go to the UFC. Get the guy some fights if you want him in the organization, Coker.

Do you know how his contract looks? How many fights left etc? It wouldnt surprise me if Volkov wanted to stay in Bellator if he is getting payed more. At least for now.

Bryc Palmer lost his comeback fight at AFC 112 last night. It seems like it was a very premature stoppage though. Here's the PBP.

HEAVYWEIGHT
Mika ‘Dah Monstah’ Silulus def. Bryc Palmer
Rd. 1, KO (punch and hammerfists)
Round 1

Gracie Barra’s Silulus plasters Palmer with a leg kick, then catches him with a solid right counter as the former champ leans in with a hook. Garage Crew’s Palmer falls to knee and Silulus follows up with hammerfists. As Palmer latches on to Silulus’ leg referee Paul Stockler rushes in to stop the bout. Stockler was position on the wrong side of the fighters to see Palmer’s face, and from his perspective it looked as if Palmer had fallen face first and was unconscious. The crowd lets loose a chorus of boos, and both fighters plus the ref admit a mistake has been made. Regardless, this one goes down as a 14 second win for Silulus.

Ante Delija vs Dion Staring for FFC HW title in March !
Rematch !

PaulL what do you think of Josue Lugo?

32 years old, 6-1 record, finished his most recent 3 fights in a combined 3:03, has a decent wrestling background and is a BJJ purple belt.

Only problem is he has fought a bunch of cans looks wise he is fat! (though seems to have shed some of the weight in recent pics).

I root for the guy as the underdog. He's lost alot of weight and his game has noticably improved fight to fight. He's not a guy who is UFC level, but he may end up like a Javy Ayala type fighter in Bellator or a similar organization.

He could have beat Huckaba if he played the game right.

Monson strikes again. Alexander Stolyarov(5-2) - Jeff Monson(52-20) February,28

Btw, kazahstani HW local star Shakhmaral Dzhepisov(5-2), who defeated Monson year ago, will fight tomorrow vs Tilek Zheenbekov(0-0)tapology (5-1 according to promoters). He could be good addition to the ONE FC thin hw division.

M-1 Challenge 55 Levan Razmadze(5-0) - Arsen Abdulkerimov(7-2)

Holy crap. Two guys who vanished are now back and fighting each other!

I know lots of guys are high on Levan, but I'm going to pick Arsen in this one. His losses at HW were when he was young and he has shown moments of brilliance.

Winner of this could well be UFC bound, or maybe one more victory.

I'll take Arsen too, better level of competition...though I'd love to see a massive, hairy Georgian headcase in the UFC!
