Some discouraging news about Tyrell Fortune... Apparently he has been in talks with the WWE to sign a contract with them after 2016. I haven't heard much about his training at the Blackzillian's in over a year either.

Tybura gets his first loss against LHW Stephan Puetz. Since Smoldarev recently lost to Tybura, I've had to change how I weigh certain things. I've decided to make potential a higher priority than experience/current ability, and shuffled things around accordingly. It will all work out in the wash when future bouts happen regardless, but Tybura's performance really messed things up in the Russian/Eastern European HW scene.

I think Smoldarev could be a better prospect than Tybura tbh, he looked great untill he decided to go for a leglock(?) against a superior grappler giving up top position with a lot of time left on the round. That is just plain stupid, if we look at top level heavyweights it is pretty clear that keeping top position and going for GNP are a way better option 99% of the time, especially for a man of Smoldarevs size. Werdum is basicly the only HW grappler doing well against other decent grapplers. There are a lot of top HW's with black belts and other grappling credentials but they never chase submissions.

Hopefully there are competent people around Smoldarev that can use his size the right way.

totally grasping at straws here but Javy Ayala has a fight lined up June 26th unknown location, and Lavar has a fight lined up June 26th but we know lavars isn't with Bellator.

it's probably the KS card Bellator 139, but a win over Lavar would do a lot more for his career than whoever he is matched up with

Poor Potts. Hope he can win and at least keep his reputation in EFC. Asker is a natural LHW, so Potts will at least have the strength and size advantage.

Potts vs Asker winner should challenge Van Zyl for the title.

They should really mix things up a bit and get a guy like Chaban Ka or Francis Ngannou to fight in their HW division, that would bring the talent level up a bit.

Glad to see Smoldarev busy.

That's an awesome fight. Kudin is a tough match for anyone. It's always amazing to see Smoldarev whenever he fights, and the more fights the better. I say give him Grabowski after he gets past Kudin, winner gets the rematch with Tybura.
