List some moments where the eventual loser of the fight almost had the winner in trouble in either a sub or a ko.
    BArry vs Kongo
    Arlovski vs Browne

    Both are all time classics

    Id like to add:
Tito vs Machida comes to mind he almost had him.
    Mayhem vs Sheilds.
Carwin almost caught someone in a choke to end a round I forgot the fight

i would say that in Ailva sonnen the loser actually won in that he was getting clobbered for 4 1/2 rounds and pulled out a hail mary sub the most amazing thing I have ever seen to be honest. So in that case the almost caught moment actually worked and silva won.

As thread starter said. Barry vs Kongo. The best example ever.

Kongo got dropped three times and nobody would have complained if the fight would have been stopped after the second or third knockdown. In stead Kongo knocked barry completely out.

Big Nog vs Frank Mir 2.

Nog dropped Mir but went for a sub instead of GnP and got his arm snapped instead.

Nobody said TKZ vs Yair so there's my contribution. Does Overeem vs Rozenstruik count? What about Silva vs Bisping?

I would say Jones vs Vitor but Jon wasn't going to tap.

Lando vs. Ferguson? Didn’t Lando have him in trouble for a bit there?

If Condit didn’t have the worst TDD of all time, GSP would have been KOd or tapped to strikes

It’s kind of funny Askren actually thought he had a chance of becoming champion
