Crime United States - 45,000 gun deaths every year

Stop with this ammosexual nonsense it makes you impossible to take seriously

You notice I'm the last person left who's willing to try to have a civil discussion about this with ya ?

A couple things . I'm going to write you a proper response to yours from the other day later when I have an actual minute to sit and think so you can look forward to that.

And contrary to what you think we look at that death number and we think it's a bad thing too it's just that we think the cure is entirely different than you.

To you it's as simple as guns are bad so we should ban them ...to me at least it's more of how can we make society a better place without taking anyone's rights away.

You could learn to be a bit more charitable to those you disagree with and perhaps have a more productive discussion. I'm not your enemy and I don't call you cutesy names like toxic or ammosexual .
Look man, I have had to listen to people sob as I tell them that one of their parents was murdered. Shot in the back. I had the tell the parents of this same victim what happened too. Sorry if I act the ass sometimes over this issue but I have reason to be passionate.

Appeal to emotion.

One of the lamest fallacies used time and time again.

Yes, guns are the biggest killer of children in the US.

Hey Shadow, do you agree that meth should be regulated?

Link to the study with age. I'm going to say in this study anyone under 21 or 18 is considered a child. Then look at the numbers per age group. It's a study we have seen before and like all was done it a way to get what they wanted.

Where is the amendment saying you shall not infringe on meth use.

You want to split hairs on what's considered a kid, right? This way maybe cancer takes over as biggest killer of kids and guns are off the hook. This is meaningless. Whatever you definition of what's considered a child I think we can both agree that the number of kids killed by guns is too high.

Do you think meth should be regulated? If so, why?

Not as lame as being so afraid of the world that you refuse to give up high capacity mags. Like somehow you wouldn't be safe without being able to throw 100 round down range in a hurry. Lol.

Yes I don't consider young gang bangers children.

It can be legally regulated or even made illegal because there is no right to have or use it.

Guns are already over regulated the problem is lack of criminal control.

Actually there are medical uses for amphetamines but neither one of us wants people to have unfettered access to to them. Why? Because some people can't be trusted with drugs like meth.

We agree on this. Same with opioids.

We have a toxic male problem in the US and we have shown we can't be trusted with guns.

That's why criminal control is the answer.

So suicide is always a people problem, it's largely a socially communicated disease. This is just my theory, but I think it matches the data: I think it relates to brain architecture that allows for a 'good death'. An evolved mechanism that allows for members of the tribe/family to sacrifice themselves for others benefit. Now what is considered a good death is a response to circumstance so it can change and is decided culturally.
- People with suicidal tendencies also follow careers paths that can result in their death. A good memorable death. I searched about a couple of years ago.

There you have it, the United States has the equivalent of a small civil war’s worth of gun casualties every year. In 2022 there was 48,000 gun deaths.

In China there is between 100-200 gun deaths a year (private gun ownership is banned).
48,000? That all?
People need to hit the shooting range more often and practice.

Doubling down with ad hominems. Nice.

A few things I've noticed while at work: The youth does not value life, no one fist fights anymore and if they do it turns into a gun fight, a lot of the suspects come from broken homes (either no dad or no mom).

I've worked a lot of vehicle burglaries and most of the time the suspect gets into the vehicle because the victim left the car unlocked. Not trying to victim blame because someone shouldn't be trying to break into your shit... but... Leaving a gun in the center console of an unlocked vehicle is negligent. I do my best to inform victims without trying to be a dick to them. We get calls of people just pulling on door handles trying to find out which door is unlocked and they search the same areas for guns.

As a patrolman i'm doing my best to help solve the issue but man it is discouraging to see all the violence. Its all over the place.

A Gun NEVER Killed Anyone.

By this logic neither did meth or coke. Drug dealers didn't do anything wrong either with this line of thinking.

Y'all will try to grasp at any straw when trying to justify hugging your firearms. Are you afraid to give up your guns?

The FSU shooter used a pistol and a shotgun.

If the person that offs themself tests positive for the China virus posthumously, does it count as a gun death or corona death?

I'd be all for sanity tests and education and courses prior to gun ownership.. but what is stopping a parent from doing that and passing all of that shit just for them to be dumb with where they put their weapon, and their kid to go and kill others in their school?

There is no good answer for this all unfortunately outside of remove them all... and that will never, ever happen here.
