I would likewise assert not many people think Mangione should escape the consequences of his actions. Plus, as you say, the people who celebrate this guy are not all of one political alignment, yet I keep hearing about "the leftists" ITT.

Regardless, and this is just a general observation: it's weird to me that people seem to have such a hard time separating the culpability of the perpetrator from the empathy or lack of it for the victim and thinking of them as two separate things. But when you do it's a little easier to be consistent and have clearer discussions about cases like this, whether it be the subway strangler, CEO killer, or shackled prison inmate beaters.

i don't think it's even possible. i don't know what he's playing at with the "innocence" claim. lawyers must have advised him but dude...you're on tape. unless his case is - i'm not that guy and everything is a ploy.

I don't think it's impossible that Luigi can get off on the charges. I say that because NY State prosecutors are not the brightest bunch. On top of that it is going to be hard to get him a fair trial. Additionally the prosecution has to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. If the lawyers can get at least one sympathetic juror (which shouldn't take a lot) this case could go down hill for the prosecution.

There is absolutely no point in throwing your life away for nothing. While I respect the bravery of those who fought, they fought for nothing. It doesn’t say what was denied. Not that it matters if this particular guy is lying or not. If you really don’t think this kind of shit is happening then two thing- 1 you are fortunate and 2 you need to do some research on the topic.
