Crime United Healthcare CEO assassinated in NYC

Push what "bullshit"?

That people cheering on a murderer are sick in the head?

Nice mask off moment here - you agree with kyle's audience.
Most of the US agree with Kyle's audience, including Ben Shapiro's audience and they disagree with any corporate cuck that tries to shame them for not caring about a mass murderer catching some heat. Save your pearl clutching you weak little snowflake, no one cares

Bill Burr with the "hot take"

you know, I'm not a team guy. I actually hate picking a side. But if I had to, I'm glad I'm more of a bill burr guy than one of these Fox/CNN pundits.

The pearl clutching of these media people, Ben Shapiros and Cuomos makes me chuckle.

Bonus clip of bill burr with the prophecy lol

The wally at 1:55 says in the US there's no respect for "life", then says "no respect for our cultural norms". Those are diametrically opposed - the "cultural norm" of denying healthcare to people is "no respect for life". These mainstream media people are the furthest thing from philosophers, fuck me.

Then by all means, go right ahead and explain why someone peddling a "luxury item like coffee" isn't greedy for making $35 million/year, or the CEO of McDonald's feeding people poison making $20M/year, but someone providing a necessity is greedy for making a fraction of that? People providing necessities should be broke, while people providing "luxury items like coffee" should be rich. Derp.

Do you think it's possible that you just sympathize with the shooter because you both fried your brains on psychedelics?

If it's "free" for you, then it's because you already don't pay taxes and contribute, and it's way too common for the people who don't contribute to be angry and resentful of the people who do.

You don't see the irony in crying about this fantasy about insurance companies having a "board of investors deciding whether people live or die" while advocating for putting the federal government in charge of it? Yeah, if you want efficiency and people who view you as an individual instead of a number and would totally never do anything that would get anybody killed, look further than the federal government lol

Good lord, this is the metaphorical equivalent of watching someone in a kitchen continuously baking banana cream pie after banana cream pie, letting them cool and then faceplanting into them.

You're out to lunch on this. A first year philosophy professor could save your posts in this thread to use as instruction material for poor reasoning and logical fallacies.

The most efficient business model in the country is running at a $6-10B loss every year?

The Postal Service is reporting a deeper financial loss than it’s seen in recent years, and is calling on Congress and the incoming Trump administration to address rising costs that are beyond its control.

USPS reported a $9.5 billion net loss for fiscal 2024, despite year-over-year growth in revenue and a reduction in its controllable expenses. The agency saw a $6.5 billion loss in FY 2023.

USPS officials said 80% of the agency’s losses came from fixed costs — including pension contributions for its retirees and workers’ compensation claims for employees injured on the job.

The agency will not seek to raise mail prices in January 2025, but it plans to keep setting higher prices each July and January after that, through the end of 2027.

USPS projections show the agency will end FY 2025 with a $6.9 billion net loss for FY 2025, and is falling short of its “break-even” goal under a 10-year reform plan.

This is rock solid reasoning. Everything is clearly a business and the only God we should serve is "efficiency" as measured by corporate profit margins.

Also, there is clearly no basis of comparison that would debase your take on this. It's not like there are dozens of industrialized countries with high standards of living, education and life expectancy, and low levels of crime and income disparity. Such a country can't exist! Paying huge sums to already rich, greedy corporate psychopaths in exchange for abysmal services instead of paying taxes is freedom!

Good points but I encourage anyone to go to an European country, look at the ingredients of a food product in the grocery stores, and then check that same food product in the states. Very interesting.

Additionally, turn the TV on and notice how any ads there are for pharmaceutical products in the states versus countries in Europe.

So Americans are unusually fat and pill addicted. Sure you can say people need to have self accountability and self responsibility. But there's more going on here and we should have a discussion about the agencies and departments that have been regulatory-captured. The revolving door of government workers-private corporate Csuite positions cannot be ignored!

It's not legal in most of the developed world to advertise prescription meds straight to the public.
Only in the US, New Zealand and apparently Canada (to some degree) has now started allowing it.
When I see prescription medication advertised on various international broadcasts it always strikes me as very dystopian (especially antidepressants). Very Brave New World.

Great post and exactly, the rabbit hole of collusion of FDA, health departments, studies and money is disgusting. I am hoping RFK and his staff can make a dent in that we will see though .

Not the same obviously, but have a similarity of being an "intake" that leads to health issues and burden on heath care costs. I think most people have access to fresh food or non-obese inducing foods in their supermarkets to be honest. The problem is people are addicted to sugar rushes and get caught up in marketing and don't have the discipline to shop on the outside lanes of the supermarket as opposed to the middle area loaded with processed and packaged goods. Honestly, bottled water for home for most people I think of as being one of the stupidest expenses people make -- literally throwing money in the trash if you live in an area with safe tap water.

I love ramming down a pizza every now and then, but have the discipline to moderate and exercise minimum 4 times a week. I really think not being obese is a very easy challenge in life if with minimum discipline. It's that we get suckered for advertising and such. Rates have probably tripled in my lifetime and I won't simply attribute it to people not being able to afford better food. Culturally, people unfortunately increasingly don't view food as a pleasure much any more and just view it as a necessary time consuming task.
You're arguing for a sin tax on food that poor people eat because it's cheap, not because it's bad for them. So, agree to disagree on that. There is no equivalence between food and addictive substances.

I don't agree that everyone has easy access to fresh food in as much as access includes having the money, having the time (both to shop and to prepare the meal), having a place to store it, and having room to stock up when it's cheap. Consequently, a lot of poor people buy some of the more nutritious foods when they're on sale. But what do they do between sales? You're looking at a lot of bread and hot dogs.

There are better ways to reshape (lol) people's diets without raising their cost of living. Here's one that just occurred to me now: how about a subscription service for low-income people to deliver baskets of fresh vegetables or the like paid for by savings in healthcare costs? If it were up to me the government would likewise put the food banks out of business.

In Canada you're not allowed to say what the drug does :p

Get real.

The rightwing audience (not pundit) view on this is basically:

"The CEO gets no sympathy from me, but the shooter is a nut who belongs in prison"

Which is a far cry from "He's a LEGEND" or "Fuck that McDonalds worker for reporting him" like you guys.

Holy shit, actual analysis of American healthcare other than just saying it's evil and fucked up? Perhaps if people actually analyzed the system rather than just spewing social media takes we could potentially improve the healthcare of Americans..
