Couture was well versed in freestyle as well. Really one of the best MMA wrestlers there has been. I wouldn't pick him against Cormier, though.

You do realize you can win rounds, and fights, while looking bad if your opponent looks worse right? That's literally how fights are scored lol. You don't have to look good, just better than your opponent. DC accomplished that, but that doesn't mean he actually looked unbeatable in his fights while doing so.

You can't tell me with a straight face that this guy:

Which was smart because had he been fighting anybody else who weren't just perplexed at wtf he's doing in the aboves they'd have charged him and hurt him bad. DC had gotten pretty uncoordinated at HW, which came back again when he moved back up again, which LHW helped fix.

And as an aside, I mean, Jones eventually KO'd him precisely because of the mistakes DC was repeatedly making. One of which was from that same Mir fight where Mir hurt him with a bodykick because DC kept overreacting to kicks.

I'm not saying DC wasn't good, I'm just saying he was never unbeatable.

Well , Chael is a ufc schill , I think this video is damage control after that poor showing of a ufc title fight . After that fight there were a lot of threads on here about how Francis and Gane suck on the ground and how big Nog and Fedor could submit them easily ( debatable)
So he selected a legend from the past and gave him a terrible stylistic fight from this time period in order to justify his point that the sport is so much better than it used to be .
I’m not saying the sport doesn’t evolve, of course it does , but every sports league in the world will always tell you that this version of the product is the best it’s ever been because there trying to sell it to you .

Most of Chael's videos, probably all of them, are unnecessary. And yet we often watch because the guy can sure keep you entertained with basic speech. One of my favourite videos by him was his video on what makes a good burger. Absolutely unnecessary, but I can watch it again from time to time and be entertained.

Chael, more than any other fighter I can remember, can just speak as he speaks and be interesting and entertaining. When he was doing his whole rhyming routine and all that when he was an active fighter, I had zero interest - that "Jon Jones, Sean Combs, John Holmes" stuff was lost on me. But to just listen to him talk normally and naturally is usually engaging.

The guy can talk.
