Media Umars hand was messed up (vid)

The plot thickens

might be a fucked if u do fucked if u don’t situation

I feel for the guy, knowing this

Thx
He fought a decent fight, got a loss, Arman T. pulled out of his fight for injury (some say thats a BS excuse and he missed weight) and while he avoided the Loss he is getting sent to the back of the line according to Dana, no way he gets another title shot soon, Umar probably gets a fight and then fights again for the belt.

Umar will be back. It's just a matter of going back to the drawing board and working on the wrestling and cardio. He can start knocking off other contenders and earn his rematch.

umar legs and hips are too weak, he should work on boxing only, best way to beat merab is to knock him out

Is there a source? All I remember is an ‘arm injury’ in the lead up. His English is good enough to discern between arm or hand specifically I’d assume at least, so it doesn’t seem totally clear whether it’s a recurring injury or not. Anybody have some specifics to share?
рука means both. It's super common for Russians to use hand and arm interchangeably.

Yeah another dude said the same and talked about his Russian speaking gf using it which was kinda funny. Would like to know specifically, but def makes more sense to be talking about training with a fractured hand vs fractured arm

Yeah, that's what I assumed he meant when he initially said he had a "fractured arm" from throwing a punch in training. A bunch of people were also saying it was bad advice for Khabib to tell him to wrestle when he was getting tired, and I figured it was to initiate himself to keep Merab from spamming shots, but now it was likely to cover up for not being able to tighten his fist on his dominant hand.

if Merab broke his hand after getting wrecked by Umar nobody would give a shit. but hey i'll contribute to the solace, here it goes, "what a warrior! to fight 20 minutes with a broken hand vs a guy who many people say cannot do any damage or even hurt you is incredible! absolute bravery by the Mountain warrior! he's for sure the uncrowned BW champion! i thought he won all 5 rds personally! how can you lose any rds to someone who cannot do any damage!"
Super close 48-47 fight that literally came down to the last 2 mins of the fight …. “Umar got wrecked”

You losers have had such a hard on for a Nurmagomedov loss for so many years that when it finally arrives it has to be embellished to compensate for the multi-year drought lol.

Also need to generate power to really prevent Merab from coming forward, he has one hell of a chin.

He got with many good punches and head but did not bleed, like his cousin. you are right needs more power, he was a little weak, like he was a 125 pounder fighting at 135

what khabib said in russian in regards to wrestling is misunderstood. He said to wrestle for every inch, which in russian has a secondary meaning is to fight for every inch. Translation just coudn't pick up on that correctly. Khabib actually after round 3 said only to box once he saw how tired Umar was. Khabib was also giving him instructions in the local Avari language, which I unfortunately do not understand, but the russian tidbits I heard perfectly well.

lol that's not even what i said. i said if Umar WRECKED MERAB, nobody would care about if Merab broke his hand. i said that because that's how i think Umar has to do to win, he has to destroy Merab. or do you think he's going to cruise to a decision vs a guy who can outpace him easily? come on stop being so sensitive about some horseshit fight that me and you have no real personal skin in the game for.

it's kind of funny of defensive a lot of Nurmagomedov fans are. what's the problem? your boy lost a close decision and i'm an asshole because you misunderstood? if i remember correctly, a bunch of your fellow fanbase repeatedly said Merab is a duck. not only does he fight him injured, he wins. but i'm supposed to care about Umar's broken hand? Merab has a fuckin staph infection in his leg, BEFORE the fight even started. if anyone should've gassed, it's him because staph will fatigue the shit out of you.

i said it before, but i don't even care if Umar lost. i just want them ALL to have difficult fights, because that's character building and much more exciting then steamrolling everyone. it's also not just for the Khabib boys either, i feel the same way about Pereira. because if you notice, the only "GOAT" candidate to NEVER have a difficult fight is Khabib. even Islam had a difficult fight vs Volkanovski and even Poirer was more difficult than people expected. but that's GOOD. i don't want to watch Islam vs Bobby Green on repeat with just a different person playing Bobby Green. i want to see a FIGHT. Merab gave Umar a fight. even Moicano gave Islam a fight however short it was. it's not just better for the fighter, it's better for the sport.

Thanks for this insight into the language stuff, that’s super interesting

Nice, mine has commercials between rounds, so I didn't actually see what either of their corners said, but several posters were going on about it in the threads the next day.

he broke it in the first because to say that he broke it at the end of 2nd or start of 3rd would be too obvious…
