Media Umar vs. Cory is the most HYPED FN fight ever

I'll be rooting for the sandman but man this is a tough fight. Last time a 10 rank fought all the way up the ranks like this was Suga. Seems like the UFC might be trying to catapult another contender.

Great main event great (not) Co Main event with Chito vs Figgy. I'm really interested in the Alonzo fight. He looked so bad his last fight but I feel like he still has potential. He is a dog in this fight too. Should be a great card.

Crazy fight for fight fans!
Sadly I think Cory has to much mileage against a crisp striker like Nurmagomedov.
But who knows?

Cory talks big but unless he does something massive in the first I think he gets dominated. Umar got clipped in his last fight early, but I think we get a better version of him this time.

I'm stoked for this one. Gotta love that he asked for Umar of all possible matches he could've had. Cory's hype cooled off a bit when he tore his tricep and grappled to a decision win over Font. I'm expecting him to remind anyone with short memories what he's all about in this one. I'm going to predict Cory by TKO (knees?) in R5.

For 2024 standards it's a good FN main event. Realistically it should be a supporting act but whatever. This umar kid is very lucky to be in this position with what he has accomplished, dogestani privilege I guess.

Umars striking is fairly overrated, Raoni had just absorbed 300+ strikes vs Victor Henry and was aging when he took that short left hook and went out. Umar doesn't show knockout power otherwise and to be honest, his hands are pretty mediocre (even Abdulmanap said this), he was dropped by Bekzat Almakhan and Saidyokub Kakhramonov and he's pretty uncomfortable when guys get inside kicking range and try to exchange...he relies on his grappling 4/5 in those situations. Cory is long and can kick, Umar can't play the kick and move at range safety game where he waits for his opponents to close distance and then goes for takedowns. On the inside for a long guy, Cory has shown better boxing than Umar has thus far too. That said, if Cory can't stop the takedown or effectively get back up when taken down...he's going to be apprehensive on the feet all night long and getting controlled on the mat if not submitted. Basic physiology also is huge here, one guys known to struggle vs wrestlers and is a lanky 5'11, the other is a Sambo world champ and Abdulmanap protege from age 13 in Umar who's 5'7/5'8 and heavily muscled....Can Cory really effectively defend takedowns, create space and find some amount of range, rhythm and timing standing to be effective vs Umar? To me it's an uphill battle for Cory and he might need to show a level of tenacity that he lacked of recent vs guys like Font, Yadong and Chito if he really wants to win this.

I got Umar, prolly decision.
