Umar Is A Future Champ

But but but he hasn’t fought anyone and and and he never went 5 rounds.

Just make an interim title fight with him against Yan and I'll be happy.

High level shit.

I don’t think so I actually thought he was backing up too much
However taking on Sandhagen of all people in your first main event is a seriously intimidating ask. So in rounds two and 3, he backed up too much in my opinion and couldn’t establish grappling. He actually was out landing Corey backing up despite DC’s stupid spheel on backing up being exhausting, which is impressive when Corey is so much bigger. However I thought the size difference clearly played a factor, Lil Nurm proved he is ready and capable for the top contenders at Bantamweight but didn’t neccesarily do it impressively. I’d describe that as a tussle between both guys.

He’s very obviously next champ, amazing striker and Sean will not be able to scramble even 1/6th as well if he beats Merab. If merab wins he gets pieced up by umar

The rounds were close, but i think it was definitely a 4-1 or 3-2 win. 0 controversey especially for a 1st time main event and 5 rounder.

I think Cory was his hardest matchup stylistically as well, i think he'd have a much easier time with O'Malley(lacks grappling like Cory) or Merab(Lacks Striking heavily).

A great performance. He answered a lot of questions for me personally. I wasn't sure how his speed or striking technique would stand against Sandhagen. I wasn't sure what his cardio would look like past 3 rounds. Was curious how his IQ stacked up to Cory's.

I really enjoyed Cory's grappling solutions. Keeping his legs from being trapped. The rolling and sitting heavy on Umar seemed effortless and worked every time, until the end of the last round where I think he was opening his guard and looking for a hail mary submission.

I came into this thinking Cory would outstrike him and outlast him in a stamina contest and I was wrong on both counts.

I doubt it, if Sean keeps the fight standing, he will knock him out or punch him in the face.

Wasn't that impressive at all, for either, quite frankly.

Thought Corey lost more than more won.

Took his foot off the gas in the end, started backing up.
I think Umar displayed some impressive counter-striking against one of the best strikers and conditioning showing he can go 5 rounds pretty effortlessly.

I didn’t think he would actually be able to do it, but I was rooting for Sandhagen to win this. This fight made it pretty clear to me that O’Malley would have nothing for him standing, because he doesn’t make any mistakes.

His wrestling is so-so, but he's a good striker and probably has a lot of room to grow. I don't think he beats merab or omalley right now but he could very well be the future.

Omalley will tune him up standing and defend the grappling.
