Na. The argument I started is stated clear as day in what you quoted. Just because you feel you have to watch tape on everything, doesn't mean those talking fights without doing so dk what they're talking about. Made the example of you watching tape and losing bet showing that watching tape doesn't always equate to good arguments. You and Bumlivian really took that to heart, apparently lol
Just because you won a bet without watching tape once doesn't mean it's going to work in the long term. Watching tape is the #1 most important thing to do when betting on MMA next to bankroll management.

I've not took anything to heart, it's actually you that resorted to personal insults. I learned a lesson, made big profit on that night AND am profitable in the long term, so why would I take it to heart?

I've won many bets without watching tape. Like I said, i've seen at least 20 (has to be more tbh prob seen every single Lauzon fight) fights of each of these guys. I'd like to make time to rewatch their most recent fights, but I don't feel its necessary.

I didn't insult you personally. I think you got mad when I said the cold truth about taking the wrong approach from the Perry results if you just see it as him "not showing up". A few of us (namedropped a few already) properly capped that fight. It had nothing to do with Perry not showing up, and everything to do with him not being as good as Jouban and definitely not worth a play as a slight favorite over him.

You're picking and choosing parts of my argument which just isn't helpful at all man. Jouban fought carefully against a power puncher for literally the first time in his career. He usually LIKES to brawl, as he's said so himself in so many interviews. Again, you can say he fought carefully against Belal, but he's a a point fighter with no punching power (his only stoppages are GnP), and he STILL got rocked in that fight. Again, I don't regret the Perry bet at all. If Jouban fought like he did on tape, a bet on him would have looked stupid. I don't care who capped that fight correctly, the guys you mentioned also acted like I'm an idiot for betting on Waterson against Paige.

Either way, we've all been wrong. We knew Sage had terrible grappling and you still acted like anyone who was betting on Gall, a proven grappler, has no idea what they're talking about and should basically kill themselves.

How about this year, instead of sucking our own dicks over bets we've won and insulting people on the other side of them, we all just learn from our mistakes, be honest with ourselves and improve instead?

If you truly think Perry just didn't show up and those of us who were accurate on how that fight would go are somehow wrong, ok man your perrogative but not sure how you don't expect some to view that as a bad way to look at as far as learning from your mistakes

I've never denied where I went wrong with the Sage bet. Idk if you're triggered and thats why you keep bringing it up anyway lol but chill and take the constructive criticism how you want.

You ignored my previous post completely and spelled "prerogative" wrong. This conversation is over. Hopefully you can learn from your mistakes so you can become a better bettor this year instead of starting mindless arguments and resorting to personal insults.

I ignored it cause you want me to debate a fight that already happeend and you were proven wrong in LOL

Whatever bro like I said, only tried helping you realize "Perry just didn't show up" is not what happened there.

What happened there is what I said in the previous post, which you ignored on purpose.

If I wanted to be sanctimonious like you I'd LOL @ you for arguing with people for weeks about betting on Gall, a proven grappler, to beat Sage, a 20 year old white belt, but it's just pointless and not helpful. I'm all about evolving as a bettor and helping people do the same this year.

I don't have time to rewatch fights but I make it a point to write down ~5 notes on each fighter in fights that i watch live, then refer back to them when looking to place a bet on an upcoming fight. Is this a bad strategy or na

I don't think so I contemplated something similar a long while ago. If it works it works, thats all that matters at the end of the day

Watching tape is a must if you want to take this seriously IMO.

You don't have to rewatch their last 20 fights because they're irrelevant with how fast fighters improve and evolve. Just watch their recent fights, or focus on fights where they've fought a similar style to their opponent before to see how they deal with it.

So for instance, which fights of Lauzon and Held should I watch in prep for next weekend in your opinion?

Granted, idk how well it would work by itself. I have the thread to fill in what I miss so there's that too (which is lazy)

I'll probably just rewatch both of their last 3 fights besides the quick stoppages.

Yeah i'd def agree watching tape is the penultimate in proper capping, but i'm sure not everyone has time for it. Just gotta find successful ways around it if thats the case

Personally unless its someone im really clued up on i always watch tape and even then i still watch tape. I need to watch tape on rivera caraway still but if the undercard odds came out now id bet rivera + who else im waiting to play without watching tape on rivera as i know him really well. Normally thats a no no for me tho but theres odd exceptions.
