How did you find this out? All info I've come across has suggested he's training at China Top Team for this bout?

I love see instagram the all fighters before the fights, videos, pictures, training partners, etc. Instagram is one the best tools for me, have much value for my bets. Make the same my friends...

Zhikui instagram have hes training on blackzilians more than 1 year.

I also look at Instagram, however his most recent picture was over 124 days ago, which is a picture with the Blackzillians.

I don't think he's been training with them for this fight.

Im looking for this info. I remember that see Zhikui in one recent video on blackzilians. I try the link and put here for all us.

Changing back to my old style of breakdown, less time consuming so can hopefully get more done.

Jonathan Meunier vs Richard Walsh

Jonathan Meunier

Strengths:

Big size and range for a Welterweight
Good offensive wrestling for a striker
Solid use of elbows and chokes

Weaknesses:

Stiff striking despite striking background
Vulnerable to strikes when isn't the one pushing forward

Key's to victory: As much as people will talk about Meunier's striking background, it really isn't his best offence in MMA at least from what his fights suggest so far. He can use straight punches and leg kicks well utilising his rangy frame but for me it's his offensive wrestling and top control that stand out most of all. He is good in the clinch and has some nice bodylock takedowns too. Once on top Meunier has some heavy elbows and is also very dangerous with chokes due to his long limbs. In my opinion Meunier's best chance at winning is to strike at range but mix in his takedowns when he can as I believe he has a big advantage if he can secure top control.

Richard Walsh

Strengths:

Decent overhand and body kicks
Toughness

Weaknesses:

Vulnerable to strong grapplers
Porous defence, essentially a brawler

Keys to victory: The key to victory for Walsh is pretty simple, he needs to do what he likes to do best and make this a dogfight. Walsh needs to close the distance and fire off his overhand that he's hurt opponents with before, as I mentioned Meunier doesn't react well to being backed up and forced to defend strikes so Walsh will likely be all too aware of that. Walsh will need to learn when to disengage after a flurry though as I think Meunier can definitely secure a takedown from the clinch if Walsh gets too aggressive looking for a finish.

Prediction: Meunier has more tools to win here. I think his striking isn't as good as others suggest but he will have the reach and size advantage over the brawler; Walsh. Meunier to take a tough fought decision or late choke.

Thanks, that would be great.

Could possibly sway me away from my original Lausa pick potentially if he's still at the Blackzillians but just from everywhere I've come across so far it all seems to suggest its China Top Team again.

Really appreciate these brah. You should put em all on a blog for real.

Thanks man, I may end doing so at some point.

I just enjoy hearing other MMA fans opinions on the fights and how they see them going, think the more input people have in this thread the better.

Can I ask why you think Brown needs a KO to win?

Tuck way better sub grappler and has never been subbed or KO'd. Tuck is the best fighter Brown has ever faced. Brown usually fades and loses decisions. Tuck does fade some as well but I think Brown has lost decisions to fighters worse than Tuck. Lee, Parke, and even Emmett are a step or more above Brown. Brown looked great against Cezar but hes not UFC caliber.

Isn't Akhmedov the worst? Wins a round or two... then gasses so bad that he gets finished in the 3rd.

This is Noke's hometown.

I'd actually say his best chance to win was on the ground. Tuck is a lot more technical on the feet than Brown and despite his recent KO win Brown is essentially a wrestler with good trips and bodylock takedowns. I'd be surprised if his strategy was to try and take Tuck out on the feet.

Alex Volkanovski- Edit this video was 2014- so not sure how relevant but good info to know

cliff hanger notes
-Takes wrestling classes on regular basis
-Did wrestling back in high school, was a champ
-Played rugby also
-Big fan of ufc and mma/combat sports in general

Locker room 1hr+ interview posted 3 months ago

cliff notes:

-talks about wrestling giving him bad backs but he is on top of it and ok
-discusses management issues blocking from ufc fight earlier but now sorted
-looks to finish fights and says needs them bonuses
-says he enjoys making the fighter worry about what he is doing so they can't do what they need to do
-discusses how he slips and lands his big over hand right (one of his fav moves)
-3-4 sessions per day across 3 days training, starts 8am+, for 6 weeks training camp
-MT session in morning, K1- kickboxing afternoon and ji-jitsu and wrestling classes
-says he has improved so much due to learning more then 6 months ago
-ranked 36 currently in the world, says he is ranked higher then 43 ufc fighters(145 featherweight div)
-use to fight at welterweight
-likes to do his hulk stamp when he enters the ring, likes to put fear in opponents
-likes to game plan and think ahead, apply aggression when he requires ie only in ring

Watched tape on Hooker and he's not as good as I remember. The only good thing he showed is a guillotine. His striking isn't there at all.

Blackzilians instagram have Zhikui training days ago.

I really think Brunson smashes Whittaker. 2U on his ML at -140 and will probably toss 1U on him to finish in the 1st round.

There's two fights on this card where a a fighter is -200 or higher. Camozzi and Jake matthews. The rest are in the -1xxs.

I keep flip flopping on the main event. Brunson is a very accomplished wrestler from the US circuit so I tend to agree with you. Whittaker looked amazing vs. Hall but as discussed that could in part just be Hall not being great. All Brunson needs is 1 TD per round to win or 1 TD in r1 and then GNP. Whittaker OTOH needs to surviv 3 rounds and pretty much get on his bike from the opening bell (not easy). What do we know about Whittaker's wrestling and TDD ability? I am assuming he is on a significantly lower level being an Aussie..

JB what do you think about the main event? You are always nuthugging US wrasslin'

I plan to be on Brunson ML for 3u or so and hedge with Whittaker decision or maybe just hedge with the over.
