UFC's best days are long gone

1. This is hardly a UFC problem!
2. Overall the fights are still pretty good
3. It's become a sport and not a blood thirsty attraction.

It's better to watch then anything else.

If the UFC cuts fighters after winning because it was boring then it's no longer a sport and more entertainment like professional wrestling. That is the problem.

People are only going to keep paying for the fights if ultimately they're entertaining. I don't see how people don't recognize this.

And maybe it's just me, but are the heavier weight classes, for a lack of better term, lighter in numbers than the other weight classes?

This. Do people here honestly think that the majority of UFC viewers give two shits on how 'legitimate' the sport is? The vast majority of MMA fans want entertainment, first and foremost. I wish the UFC would just accept this and stop trying to be a 'real' sport.

Question : Is UFC 174 worth downloading ? I couldn't watch last nightbut i was sort of interested by a couple of fights on the card , Rory vs Woodley in particular.

I looked at the results this morning and there was shitload of decision and from what i've been reading from you guys it sound like it was quite boring.

No. Rory put on a good show but Woodley was just backpedaling the entire time. The rest of the card was a bore.

There's a severe lack of intensity in most fights lately. People can attempt to defend it all they want, but by the amount of people shitting on the UFC for the last few years it's obvious it's gone massively downhill. Last night's card was a pretty typical card and people hated it.

My adrenaline used to start pumping with every card when the gladiator music started. Now there are maybe a couple of fights a year where I give a shit enough for my heart rate to climb even a little.

I disagree
It just seems like a new generation is upon us
Its just going to be different for a while until we get used to it
All of our favorite fighters are falling and new ones are taking their place

I use to feel physical anxiety before Pride events and older UFC cards when I had my favs throwing down, now I physically go to an event and do nothing but look at my watch.

Alright thanks. I probably will just download that fight then

I miss the days when fans talked about the sport, instead of cried about it

Seriously, can we have a "bitching and moaning" sub section please??

The sport kinda sucks now, bottom line. Just cause YOU still think it's the greatest thing since slice bread doesn't mean that it's the collective attitude. Oh, and let me guess: "If you don't like it, don't watch it."

I'm way ahead of you, as are most of the UFC's former fans.

"Entertaining" is largely subjective.

Of course it is. But it seems to me most people who aren't trying to pass themselves off as some sort of MMA sophisticate would rather watch two men try to fight to a finish rather than waiting to see who can score the most points.

You are right....instead you should keep bitching about how bad the sport is, and then dedicate hours of your life to continue to watch it

You sure are way ahead of me bro

I miss the days when a fight was a fight. Back when winning rounds wasn't the point. Back when two warriors went head up and let the chips fall where they may.

erm
its STILL a fight
winning a round was ALWAYS the point
U mean when they swung for the fences...no thanks
