The actual law is more nuanced. Nobody is allowed to hit people without consequences, but if you do it once, you only get fined. Do it again, and it's a crime.

Works both ways, too.

Also, a similar law applies to street fights. If a couple of guys or chicks duke it out outside the bar and nobody gets seriously injured, nobody goes to jail.

But what does the fact that a law like this exist say about how it probably is looking in the average Russian household? A lot of women weren't happy with this law, for obvious reasons.

Believe it or not, Russia is not some lawless hellhole lol. I lived in Russia for 30 years; in my experience, the average Russian household is not that different from the average Canadian/American one. The vast majority of families get along just fine, especially when it comes to educated people living in cities.

The logic behind this law is to prevent destroying people's lives over a slap in the heat of the moment.

Oleynik has a reputation of betraying training partners by training with their opponents/cornering against people he’s trained with and just overall fake/backstabbing behavior against people who’ve helped him

Yep, I know a couple of people who were closely associated with him 10-12 years ago, and they all hate his guts.

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight Alexey Oleynik has fallen on hard times after splitting with his ex-wife, Tatyana.

Oleynik claims he is left with nothing after his divorce. According to the “The Boa Constrictor,” he left everything for Tatyana and their five children. Oleynik also accuses Tatyana of leaving him as he can no longer earn enough from his fights due to his age. The Russian fighter seemingly tried to save his marriage, as well.

While Oleynik claims to be paying Tatyana full alimony, it’s apparently still not enough to support her allegedly flamboyant and promiscuous lifestyle. Oleynik also accuses his ex-wife of trying to distance his children from him by blocking his contact on their phones.

“I am left with no property, without anything else,” Oleynik told Match TV (translation via Red Corner MMA). “Everything I had I left to my ex-wife and children. I can’t compete due to my age and health conditions and make the same money for my fights. That’s probably why she left me. When she filed for divorce about a half a year ago I was trying to change her mind, I was trying to save the family. I’ve been paying the alimony in full and even extra [since the divorce], but it’s still not enough for her as she goes out every weekend to drink, follows an asocial lifestyle with a promiscuous reputation. I love our kids very much and every two or three months I fly over to the U.S. to see them, but she manipulates them, blocks my number in their phones so I can’t call or text them.”

Tatyana denied the allegations while speaking to Match TV and instead blamed the divorce on Oleynik. According to Tatyana, Oleinik cheated on her before finally leaving his family for another woman. Tatyana also claims Oleynik left no property as everything was seized by the banks due to non-payment. She now plans on filing a defamation suit against her ex-husband.

A master of the Ezekiel choke, Oleynik went 9-9 in the UFC with eight of those wins coming via submission. Ezekiel had dropped four of his last five when he was removed from the UFC roster after exhausting his contract in 2022. He has since competed twice on the regional circuit, suffering a first round knockout loss before rebounding with a submission win in 2023.

Jon Fitch set the standard with this. I think his wife left him for the accountant. It was a weird story. I think the guys name was Steve. It was after he left the UFC. The big money stopped coming in and she was gone.

And he got pissed about it, became red pilled or whatever the fuck the kids call it these days. I always had the feeling he realized he could've been banging 100s of hot chicks during his UFC prime and missed out on all of it.

From the article, it sure does seem like Oleynik is going out of his way to defame his ex-wife

What she does with the money that he sends her by court order or as per divorce agreement, is her business.

To make it sound like she's a drunk who left him when he could no longer earn money from fighting... is in bad taste.


But based on her reply, it does seem like this is more of a case of him going broke from no longer being able to generate income. If it is true that the properties were seized by the bank... and that Oleynik had an affair... then yea, that's totally on him.

That being said, is there any old school MMA fighter who didn't go broke after retirement?
Perhaps only Royce Gracie

Yea.. I remember that too. He said something along the lines of
