UFC signs two European Heavyweights

Was hoping for Sergei and Arlovski, but these two could have some promise.

good to see new HW names. like it was said, tired of seeing the same guys.

Ukraine have very close ties to Russia.

yeah, they hate each other.

in sherdog, "europe" is a country.

I remember coming across Nikita Krylov's fight finder page some time ago and was intrigued. Though not sure what the Ukraine scene is like.

I knew he would be in the UFC one day just based on the pic. I love the pic an old Tapout shirt and UFC gloves. You knew this guy wouldn't ever sign with Bellator.

His FightFinder profile is strange. Here's a video from March 23 2013 MMA event:

Krylov's fight starts at around 1:14:00 and he loses via sub around 1:17:26. And he's still undefeated in all his online profiles. Fight's not even mentioned.

Omielanczuk has lots of experience, and at 30 he's still young for a heavyweight. I don't think he'll be a top 10 guy, but you never know.

Krylov is still raw, but he definitely has major potential, with proper matchmaking and upbringing he can do quite well I think.

The young guy seems to have a pretty serious record, very similar to what Carwin/Rogers were sporting at one time with more submission wins.

I'm surprised that there aren't more Russians in the UFC.

BOOM! Cannot wait to see Krylov, kid has great potential even if he's been crushing cans - hes been beating them the way you SHOULD beat them, quickly and efficiently.

Omeilanczuk im not so familiar with but love seeing new heavies in the UFC.

Yeah I'm completely skeptical of a 14-0 record agaisnt mostly bums in country that isn't known at all for MMA. And I didn't even know that. But he's a big young kid, not fat with gaudy record. I'm sure that's mostly what the UFC and HW fans care about.

At the very least he'll pad someone else's record. Probably some other young or mediocre HW will finish him and get some unnecessary hype. I'm sure they don't pay him much. It's win-win for the UFC.

None is Russian
If they want people for a Russia card, they can easily find good Russians
Culturally I would characterize him as an Ukrainian-Russian as he speaks perfect Russian and possibly speaks it at home as I haven't noticed any notable accent. Ethnically he also might be partly Russian as he has Russian last name. So there is some Russian in him.

They definitely need more HW's. I wouldn't mind seeing another all HW TUF.

Never heard of either of them, good signings I guess, more HW and Russians isnt a bad thing. They've let Bellator sign alot of Russians so its good to see them going after more guys from that part of the world.

Want them to sign that Russian Flyweight Ali B.

Jan Jorgensen will be next 8-0 all KO's you herd it hear first

Daniel Omielanczuk, 30 years old, 15-3-1

Nikita Krylov, 20 years old, 14-0

I'm especially excited to see Krylov fight in the UFC, he's still very young and has great experience for a fighter his age. He also won the majority of his fights by submission although the opponents he has faced aren't anything special

Do you know anything about Krylov other than what it says on Sherdog? Curious if you have seen him fight and can offer some insight because it would be awesome to beef up the heavyweight roster with talented guys.

What do you know about him?
