UFC roster is OLD

I count 8 fighters on this weekends PPV card who are 37 years old or older.

UFC needs fresh blood and young stars BADLY.

A lot of divisions have got the top 5 filled with 35 year olds.
This company needs to learn how to build new stars and go back to getting the best from around the world in free agency...
but not when they are already shot and clearly past prime like the wave of Bellator big name (Pitbull, MVP, Chandler)

48 is actually when men hit their prime.

WAR Ben Askren's son!
Chase is on a 5 fight win streak.

And looking good. His grappling is pretty aggressive and he is filling out his strength and learning how to play to his strengths.

I'm not sure he will not hit a glass ceiling due to his BJJ style. He might. dude isn't the most athletic and powerful, I don't see him turning into a striker or a dominant wrestler.

But he can probably beat a lot of guys

And it's fun to have a submission hunter in the mix.

It really has been going the way of boxing in recent years. Just squeeze every dime out of established names versus building up the next generation.

There's not a lot of relevant fighters in the UFC. Most divisions have very few meaningful prospects, little to no rising stars and a serious lack of actual contenders in the ever aging top 10. The brand is soggy, they dont sign top talent like they used to, certain countries they largely avoid (Russia), they don't want free agents who were champs in other promotions usually and the UFC doesnt develop talent like it used to 1. Due to the depth of talent and globalization of the sport and 2. The dollar gets you nowhere in the US so signing for 15/15k post contender series leaves you too poor to rent an apartment...meanwhile its a great relative salary in Brazil, Japan, Russia etc.

If you think that's old, add all their ages up and combine them.....holy shit!

[omg1]{<hhh]

Because most young guys aren't good enough to be on a ppv? The UFC already tried with Rosas and Bo on a ppv main card and both guys only stunk up the place with mid performances or got finished when not fighting cans. Younger guys like Ian Garry and Joshua Van who are good enough to be competitive with high level guys are rare.

30-40 is not old.
It is relative to the profession. 30 is old for a ballerina, 50 is old for a code developer, 70 is old for a doctor, 85 is old for a politician.

A lot of fighters who rely on their athleticism drastically decline after 35 assuming they had a long career. There are definitely exceptions but that's what exceptions are for.

Yeah, it's a fun change of pace added to the cards with his style.

But, like you mentioned, pure grappler's of recent years have hit some painful ceilings such as Flat Earth Gracie, that wrestler who prefers fishing, "meh" face BJJ guy, and Chase's dad.

40 is the new 30.

Athletes can play longer now.
wrong
jones fought fighters pre usada having an average age of 29-32 years of age but shertards say they are old

remember fighters can roid all they want back then

today using peds has limits
so your wrong.

PEDs are not the only way you can keep fighting longer.

Better training, fewer gym wars, and more financial stability.

I like orcas too, did you hear about the one that wore a fish as a hat?

Look at the distribution of age in the world's population, the biggest generation right now is that age. It makes more sense when you see how many are that old.
