UFC releases Yushin Okami

UFC should stop that whole "we have the best fighters in the world" thing. They cut top 10 fighters in their weight class while keeping guys like Joey Beltran around. (Don't get me wrong, I love Beltran)
Not to mention the dudes who just fought for the UFC lightweight title just came from WEC, Nick and Carlos were from WEC and strikeforce when they fought for the interm title, and plenty of top talent has come from other orgs like WEC, Bellator, and Strikeforce.

UFC just needs to fucking stop.
 
I understand the rationale behind it but I still don't agree with it

If you're in Jon Fitch territory I guess you get the Jon Fitch treatment but to me it's BS. Like I said I understand the rationale behind it. guy not good enough to beat the top contenders but can smother the up and comers, a guy who has peaked as a fighter and on the way down. someone who's fighting style is not appealing to the majority of fans

I get it but not everybody in the ufc is exciting. they got rid of a guy that was like #6 on their own rankings
 
I'm sure he'll be champion in Bellachoad, he was a skilled fighter but who wants to watch a guy who's boring as shit and kills off contenders?
 
Meh, take him or leave him, I can't say I'm a fan but he didn't deserve to be cut. I'm indifferent. It's also a way to motivate good fighters and test their desire. He might go to Bellator, get a belt, come back as a Champion and have another go. His UFC story may not be over just yet.

Thats bullshit, but I understand UFC's point of view. He costs a lot of money as a past title contender
 
Everybody whinges about the rankings system & says it's farcical, now they complain cause they think Okami was ranked.

Yes! Tito did nothing but lose in the latter part of his career, and it took forever for him to go away....I thought I'd never see the day. Okami on the other hand beats solid game on a regular basis. I guess Dana didn't like him derailing his money train hype of one Hector Lombard.

Great business model....get rid of good competition and replace it with garbage instead. As if Dana couldn't have cut someone else.

While I believe he is definetly a top 10 MW I think Dana is trying to send a message to all the fighters to the tone of "be exciting or lose your job!"
