UFC PPV Numbers By Year

thats actually kinda alright considering just how horrible some of the ppv cards were

I guess people will buy anything

Conor's not fighting in the UFC anymore. WME better start building new stars, something they've been awful at despite literally being in that business.

They're agents - middle men. All they know is negotiation and placement, and that's what they've done - place fighters in other forms of media (which is embarrssing to watch).

Same parent company, you think wme is letting Dana promote zuffa boxing for free? Just like the ufc gyms help the bottom line, zuffa boxing will too.
I’m not disputing that. I’m stating a fact. Zuffa boxing would have no bearing on the popularity or ppv buys of the the ufc events( unless they had boxing on the actual ufc events.

They are different sports that don’t necessarily have the same fan bases. People that like boxing won’t just suddenly start buying MMA ppv just because the same company promotes them.

It could do well for zuffa but not for the ufc

Are the same amount of ppv cards available each year?

Numbers would be off if one year they had 6 ppvs and one year 4?

Just wait if they go with Direct Tv/ AT&T these numbers will be half of what they are now

If that did not occur with Jones, I think we'd see it
I don't think he should/would get a title shot next

Maybe a Reem rematch if no Jones

I don't think there is enough money involved in a second Reem fight to pull Lesnar out. However, the Jones fight would be huge.

I predict 2018 to be even lower than 2017. No one is gonna bring in big numbers, Conor ain't gonna defend the belt, he might fight once but no more than that I feel. Jones is gone. No one else can sell nothing. The only other guy is GSP but he seems to have this illness now so he may not fight for entire year.

One of the most hilarious things is that the EIC of your source of these numbers, Dave Meltzer, spent all last year thumping for PPV and against streaming. Funny he hasn't mentioned that opinion in quite a while. Fewer people are going to be able to afford cable within our current economic system, and Dish costs less a month than a regular PPV.

Seems like this 'UFC Brand as the star' doesn't really work well. They need to start promoting their champions better. Find things about these people that fans can latch onto and view them as 'their guy/gal' or create mystique around the fighter.

From a decent source on here he said after everything Conor walked away with 60 million.
As much as I appreciate that... I always have to see the reference. It really does become questionable even further when you say your source is "on here..." & you don't mention who it was.

People read things... & repeat things... & it often gets skewed. That's why we need the source. Often times... (more than I can count) even the source is wrong.

Reem is a bigger match then Hunt was & that pulled him out

It was also an easier match up on a massive card. Lesnar easily stole the show once McIrish got pulled. I’m not sure what clause’s Lesnar has in his contract but ppv points may be in there. He got paid handsomely even without ppv shares.

All these numbers tell me is the ufc is two big stars way from getting their numbers back. Remember when the legends dissapeared like coutoure liddel and some of the other big names? Took awhile but a new generation is coming again, wave 3
