Buday was ranked #12 and went 7-1 in the promotion when the UFC chose to not re-sign him.

Nobody here can tell me with a straight face they would get excited for Buday vs Tom. HW is dying and we need some dynamic and buzz generating contenders, not whatever Buday was

Usually they get a new contract going before they have a chance to fight it out but did UFC not bother with it this time?

Or was this guy stupid enough to think he was going to have legit leverage if he won his last fight and UFC simply said "oh you wanna play that game? Bye!"

they should have let Lewis KO this cab driver like the last one
Truth be told considering that Buday is big and more durable than the average HW he could have been one of the guys to wear on Black Beast in the clinch and beat him like that, or at the very least provide more momentum for Derrick if he lost. Many things you could've done with a 7-1 guy instead of just letting him go.

Instead of keeping Buday and Romanov we get to see Tafa and Lane get fights, awesome.
