He could have learnt more grappling than that in a beginners MMA class in any gym of any level. Wherever he trains, let him down there.

Go rewatch Tai vs JDS back in the day.
Tai got mounted and flailed his arms punching back in that fight, but got finished by never actually moving. Atlkeast this guy kept himself in the fight by moving occasionally and covering up.

Even though Despaigne had no clue what was going on in the wrestling, the few times it was still standing and he threw a punch it looks dreadful, looks like he was trying to throw a baseball, there was no technique or skill in those punches either, his eyes were closed and just trying to swing as hard as he can. Very amateurish
