UFC on ESPN+ 34 Overeem vs Harris

I saw some tapes on him he isnt bad. A ko by the underdog could be possible.
Maybe Giga does gas and the guy usually has cardio. He definitely has the deck stacked against him though. I think he will have alot of trouble getting into range.

Because of Giga height? yeah i think Giga here could actually survive and get away with a win. Whats the worse thing that can happen Rivera scoring a win? this Rivera first time in the UFC, i dont like Giga the way he fights but this should be an easy fight for Giga not to mention he has the height advantage.

I think Rivera's cardio could be his biggest advantage. Probably not since he is undersized and on one days notice though.

Any thoughts on Borella - Casey?

Of course! Here is what I wrote;

I really, really want to fade Mara Romera Borella. She relies on some middling judo skills to win fights while having some of the worst striking in the entire UFC as well as the most delicate glass chin, a horrid combination. I almost did with Montana de la Rosa at -165 but dismissed it as MDLR's own striking is awful and her BJJ/wrestling not particularly good, either.

Welp, MDLR's grappling proved to be better AND she knocked down Borella with a punch, despite her hands looking as wretched as ever, so if anything, I actually overrated the wide-eyed Italian, who would be better served starring in Italian fetish porn than embarrassing herself at MMA.

Unfortunately, they have matched up Borella with Cortney Casey. Unlike some of the fighters making the jump from 115 to 125, like Maryna Moroz or Joanne Calderwood, I don't anticipate much success for Casey. Her main advantage at 115 was how much bigger and stronger she was than any of her opponents. That won't be the case at 125 or against Borella.

Striking-wise, anyone has a chance to hurt Borella, but the Italian, whose defense is average, might be able to avoid, straight from my notes;

"Slow, stiff, awkward, technically flawed punches with too much jerky side movement instead of being technical and straight. Occasionally even paws or slaps with them."

The one thing Casey does reasonably well is leg kicks, befitting a former soccer player who is still far more of an athlete than actual fighter.

Casey's takedown defense is a little bit of a mystery at 125; she managed to stay upright at 115 against certain opponents simply due to being so much bigger and stronger than them, but her actual technique and balance suck. Borella might be able to get takedowns in the clinch, and we have also seen her catch kicks, which she will have plenty of opportunity against Casey. If on the ground, Casey will likely stay there and absorb GNP, even from the likes of Borella, so despite sucking so badly, the tattooed thot will have a chance in this match-up.

If Borella has no grappling success, then she will look like a +400 or worse, I think. But if she does, she might be even or have a slight advantage. Emphasis on slight; she has a history of close/split decisions against people she had significant grappling edges on, like the Taila Santos fight. This is the absolute best-case scenario for her against Casey.

There is also some comparison to the Casey-Waterson fight, which the Arizona soccer player rightly deserved to win. Waterson got a few takedowns but was beaten standing. Borella is a lot bigger and stronger, but technically, her grappling is at least a little worse.

I looked at the Casey by TKO/KO line, too. I would have played the opener at +1050 but the current +775 doesn't sound too exciting, especially since Borella can always pull guard when she gets hurt as she did against MDLR and Casey won't even know how to finish her off.

Pass on this but there might be some good live-bet lines.

Crazy that Hernandez got a win over Brendan Allen and he made so easy work of Holland, i dont think that matters, but interesting.
Holland had him in some really bad spots too though. I think the grappling wore down Holland and he was able to be finished by a super tough Allen. I think this fight is gonna be similar, a little sloppy with lots of grappling exchanges. I'm taking the under as someone is very likely to be submitted.

What are your thoughts on Landwehr? To be hontest i'm not familiar with him, but i know that Elkins lost 3 straight and i'm surprised to see him as favorite. Is Nate any good?

I'm also curious to hear opinions on Holland vs Hernandez fight. Currently it's pick em fight but most of so called experts pick Holland to win. The last thing i remember about him is how he gassed and Allen rag dolled him to submission victory.

Hernandez is good and fast pace actually both are.Hernandez might be a bit faster. Its hard to choice.

Casey has so many close decisions and this smells like one as well. Really depends if Borella can keep her down. I think I will go with Courtney small myself and hope for the best. (Live bet sounds good tho)

Odds on Overeem are juicy but his glass chin makes me stay away

This has nothing to do with the Mara Romero Borella fight, but I thought it was interesting. I got it from her Wikipedia page.

Suspension for 26 years for distributing and selling of cocaine
Borella was arrested by Italian authorities under "Operation Flanker" for distributing and selling cocaine and cannabis at sporting venues, an operation conducted by the Investigative Unit of the Carabinieri of Piacenza in Emilia and Lombardy. Borella entered into plea deals in 2012 along with 33 defendants where punishments were of up to one and four years in prison. She spent a period in prison and later under house arrest for the incident.

Borella was also suspended by the National Anti Doping Agency of Italy for 15 years for distributing and selling prohibited drugs. The same agency then added an additional 11-year suspension, for a total of 26 years, until 2044, for use of Italian sporting facilities while serving a suspension under the Italian Anti Doping Code article 4.12.3. It was reported on October 19, 2018, that Borella was free to compete in the UFC as the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) UFC anti-doping program does not consider Borella's criminal activity a violation, as it was unrelated to performance enhancement.

Good B/D

I'd add...if Borella's cardio holds up, she may not need the TD. She could potentially wall n stall her way to an ugly decision by brute strength and the fact that Casey sucks at digging for unserhooks or doing much of anything after Rd 1 when she's pressed against the cage. If she's even slightly tired she just stays put while time ticks away.

Already played u2.5 chikadze but surprised to see round 1 win at +300 or +450 round 2. There's no way this small bum can withstand the strikes coming his way. Already has 2 ko losses in his small fight record to bums.

Is the card going to be on time for once or is there another 1hr delay?
