News UFC On ESPN 10 Fighter pay

No names in the NFL aren't any more popular than No names in the UFC. I don't see what you're getting at here?
They are not popular, true, but get air time, get to play in the same team, a no name gets to play on prime time, a chance to score, a no name in combat doesnt get those opportunities.

LOL what you guys think? Fighters getting paid enough or what?
Majority of these fighters are unknown no names or under performers...and they can fight 3x a year so multiply what ever salary they got x3, thats a lot better than working a 9 to 5 job that pays you minimum wage....

People out here making MMA fighting to be like going to fucking Afghanistan just because there is blood involved....They are professional athletes that train during whatever time they want and get to do what ever they want the rest of the day, every day. I know how this post will sound, that im not caring about fighter pay and this and that, or that im comparing MMA fighting vs Mcdonalds 9 to 5, but at the end of the day, you cant expect "Anthony ivy" to be making 500k per fight either.... no one even knows who this guy is.... he made 12k for a fight he lost, if he fights 3x a year thats 36k....that is an above avg yearly salary.....and thats assuming he has no performance or win bonuses...... so yes, can they get paid more? Sure, is it performances based incentives? Yes, and as a fan i like to see people being good at their job just like i would have to be if i worked construction or UPS or something else.

Compare it with other organizations and these are actually decent payouts

A lot of times, they get none of those things. Some NFL players literally are just there because of injury and get paid to stand around in street clothes for majority of the season. MMA fighters have to essentially be chosen to be pushed by the UFC or make careers outside the UFC to reach the pay that mid level athletes in other sports get, and even then it's still not as much most times.

The problem will always be the size of the roster 600 some odd fighters with only i dunno 10% being elite. They need to cut that roster in half and use that money to pay the top fighters better.

Should be top 20 fighters in the UFC only they really do need a legit feeder league. imo
Top guys make decent money, while PPV draws should make more, guys like Overeem get from 400k to 800k per fight, he made more than Cejudo, unless Cejudo got a cut from the PPV.

Stop comparing it to 9 to 5's with no skill. That's not what these fighters should be comparing their pay too. They also have to pay for training, coaches, managers, medical expenses which are increased due to their occupation. You're not looking at it the right way. They make the UFC so much money, they need to be paid better

You do know that that half that would be cut would go on and make even less in another promotion, right?

What org. are you comparing to? They are by far the biggest MMA org. in the world, they should be paying way better not comparably. That's like if the NFL was paying the same as the XFL did lmaoo.

Do you really believe that Hannah Cifers made the UFC any money?

They are filling out a card, which is part of a broadcasting deal, that the UFC makes 100's of millions from. So yes, she helps make them money wtf lol

I'm not so familiar with football but were they almost bankrupt ever? The (former) owners of the UFC gambled with their own money and now are getting the benefits of it. Why would they pay more if they don't have to?

A regular fighter on Bellator makes way less. As long as the fighters don't come together and stand up, it will remain like this. And let's say if people would be asked to optionally pay $10 extra for a PPV with the money going directly to the fighters, do you think the fighters would make any more money? It's easy to complain about low pay when the money (or risk) isn't yours

But if she wouldn't fight, the card would still be filled and the UFC would still get paid. Stand up together or stop whining, it's that easy

UFC pays medical expenses.

But yes. I get your point.

I'm not complaining, I'm just pointing out they get paid shitty. I've been saying the fighters should unionize for 10 years lol. Just because they are going about it the wrong way, doesn't mean they aren't under paid. Put up the Bellator numbers so we can compare, otherwise stop talking about it

Boxers just starting make like $2,000 per fight. You have to work your way up to good pay like any other professio. Not every douche/douchette who wants to be a fighter can get millions right off. Millennials can eat shit.

Yeah! Those little asshole millennials can eat shit and die
