UFC is legit, PRIDE was s^^t?

When people say PRIDE fighters failed coming to America I can only shake my head at the absurdity of the statement. The UFC champions at the time PRIDE dissolved were Sylvia, Liddell, Franklin, Hughes, and Sherk. 3/5 of those fighters (Sylvia/Liddell/Franklin) were literally run out of MMA by PRIDE fighters (Nogueira/Fedor, Rampage, and Anderson). And PRIDE didn't even have a 170 pound division so there was nobody to even challenge Hughes for his belt.

The elite PRIDE fighters were superior to the elite UFC fighters. It's just a fact of life. Eventually those PRIDE fighters lost to new young stars because that's how MMA works but make no mistake, from 2000-2008 all best fighters were PRIDE fighters. It was proven.

Not only were the fighters in Pride great as fighters, they had so much personality. Nog was this really nice, humble, respectful submission genius who got into absolute wars with amazing comebacks. CroCop was a no frills terminator with his cemetery left kick. Fedor was an ice cold killer whose fights were always action packed. Wanderlei was like a terrifying Neanderthal mother fucker. The personalities and unique fighting styles made the fights super exciting.

of course, in the UFC it is different, no roids like in pride (living examples: jones and anderson), objective judges (oh yea, no wrong decisions at all), best referees, political correctness with WMMA and midgets, cmon, UFC is creme de la creme

The differences between the UFC and Pride are cosmetic. Anyone who thinks one is cleaner than the other believes in fairy tales.

Pride was pretty basic . Lol at all these people pretending they watched it when at the time u could only get it weeks after on vhs ..

Pride has and always be the golden age of mma.

Agreed. But not just for what PRIDE was doing alone. But for what PRIDE was forcing the UFC to do at the same time, which was hold fantastic stacked fight cards, in order to compete with them. The competition made each org raise their games, and us mma fans all benefited from that. Each org was amazing back then. It sadly will never be like that again.

Pride was better no doubt. UFC protected their fighters from Pride tournaments after Liddell got destroyed by Rampage. Liddell, during his prime, was likely the 4th or 5th best LHW. The first 10 minute round was a challenge. Randy vs Fedor would have been a white-wash also.

Yep, it basically involved ignoring the multiple Pride guys who did very well, and the fact that contemporary UFC fighters also got old and started sucking.

Why anyone supports an org over actual fighters is a true mystery.

I honestly think they gave him the two easiest possible opponents. Mickey Gall was kinda cheeky in his win but as Masvidal did against Askren..sometimes you gotta teach people a lesson so they understand what it means to actually compete against UFC level talent.
