#6 Joaquim Buckley vs #3 Kamaru Usman Win or Lose vs #4 JDM - Right now there is a ton of contenders rising to in the 170 division. All signs are pointing that JDM vs Usman will happen at 312 following with a possible Leon/Brady the next month in London. So there is a lot of movement and traffic in the division right now which is good for us but not for Buckley, I say win or lose he should take on Usman. If Usman beats JDM he will more than likely need 1 more considering he would be 1-3 in his last 4. Although if he loses I'm not sure if he would stick around but if he does then Buckley could be an option I guess?
#7 Colby Covington vs #8 Ian Machado Garry - Whether you hate him, love him, the dude stepped up on short notice and the UFC will acknowledge that. Colby doesn't have much left in terms of options and his career but he has 1 more interesting fight and that is Ian Garry on a PPV or a Main Event of a Fight Night. I Don't know when Colby will return and if Ian will wait that long knowing how Colby's activity is but if it's around May-June, this could be possible.
Cub Swanson - RETIRE - Maybe I'm in the minority here but it's not often we see UFC Legends go out on a high note, please Cub, retire and let fans remember you off your last amazing performance rather than losing and then retiring.
Billy Quarantillo vs Nate Landwehr - Listen, despite Billy losing his stock doesn't go down much and if there is any fight I would like to see him in, it's Nate the Train baby, no explantion needed.
#9 Manel Kape vs #2 Brandon Moreno - Honestly I wouldn't be mad if Kape got the title shot whatsoever but I think making Royval take another one before fighting for the title after he went through 2 wars isn't really right. In the mean time I would absolutely love to see Kape vs Moreno for the main event in Mexico City for 5 rounds, whether Kape or Moreno wins, it guarantees us a banger with Pantoja. Trust me, I would not mind a rematch with Moreno and Pantoja seeing how it went at UFC 290, nor would I mind a rematch with Kape seeing how good Manel looked tonight.
#12 Bruno Silva vs Winner of Jesus Aguilar / Rafael Estevam - Despite the loss, Bruno Silva showed that he is always down to scrap but I think we knew that... Anyways after that kind of damage he is going to need a bit of time off, maybe come back for a Brazil card in May if that's when they're going to do it. Aguilar vs Estevam is happening in early February and the winner for sure needs a rankings shot.
Dustin Jacoby vs Mingyang Zhang - Beautiful KO from Dustin Jacoby, not only that but he probably just saved his career. Before this fight he was 1-4 in his last 5 and a loss here probably meant he was out of the promotion but I guess we will never know... anyways he is still about 1 more win away from the rankings and will have to take on another prospect to get there, Zhang is no joke and this could be a great fight to add onto a Main Card of a Fight Night Infront of a crowd.
Vitor Petrino vs Ivan Erslan - In the last 2 fights I have to say, Vitor has been absolutely unimpressive. Started off 4-0 now is on a 2 fight losing streak losing both by finish. He is still only 27 so he has a ton of time so let's match him up with Ivan Erslan who doesn't look to be anything special after losing to Cutelaba a couple months ago. Let's see if Vitor can rebound or if he will continue to slide.
Daniel Marcos vs #11 Jose Aldo - Great win for Marcos and he is 100 percent up for a ranked opponent. I can for sure see the UFC making this fight when they go back to Brazil and throwing this on the main card. The hope is that Marcos will stand up with Aldo more than most of his opponents do when facing Aldo although that is quite the ask. This would be a great fight and a winnable one for both.
Adrian Yanez vs Victor Henry - That was a fun scrap and we know one thing about Yanez, the UFC actually really likes him and tends to give him favorable matchups to time to time and although I think Victor Henry matches up with Yanez quite well, it isn't a layup by any means but it is a fun fight for the fans as it pretty much guarantees some action as both men need a win after losing recently.
Navajo Stirling vs Osman Diaz - An Okish debut win for Navajo Stirling, still has a ton to improve but didn't look the worst nor the best. I would like to see him against Osman Diaz who just lost his debut a couple weeks back by KO. This is more of a layup to be honest to see how Stirling does against someone who will stand up with him instead of mixing up the wrestling as Tokkos did.
George Tokkos vs Artem Vakhitov (DWCS) - If I had a dime for every time Tokkos got hit and shook his head.... anyways Tokkos drops to 0-2 in the UFC and has a pretty ugly record of 10-5 overall in his career, they'll keep him around for 1 more to introduce another DWCS contract winner in Artem Vakhitov, who has previous Kickboxing history with Alex Pereira. Could easily book this on the UK London fight night card to give Artem some hype Infront of a live crowd.
Michael Johnson vs Bobby Green - Ah man, it's always good to see MJ get a win, especially in that fashion. Now listen, there is only 1 fight I want to see for MJ and that is him against Bobby Green, I've wanted to see this fight FOREVER and now we actually have a chance for this fight to actually materialize, let's see this UFC... please I beg you while they are still here.
Ottman Azaitar - RELEASED - That is 3 fights in a row where he has been knocked out cold, it's time for him to go.
Joel Alvarez vs #14 Jalin Turner - Joel looked better than ever as he always does, what was interesting though is that he got on the microphone and said he is probably going to move up unless they go back to Spain, maybe he stays around at Lightweight for a few more maybe he doesn't but what we know for sure is that his weight cut if for sure starting to bring up some issues. This fight is oblivious though, 2 6'3 men at Lightweight who are finishers? This is an easy Main Card fight of any event, fight night or PPV.
Drakkar Klose vs Matt Frevola - Can't say I didn't expect that result tonight, Drakkar is 36 years old but still shows that he can compete with the Top 25 of the division, just not near the Top 15 or inside it. I'd like to see him against some fellow veterans and people in his age range and level like a Matt Frevola. The Steam Rolla is on 2 brutal KO loses back to back and is going to return around April-May is my guess and that should work for Klose as well.
Sean Woodson vs #12 Giga Chikadze - What a Christmas Gift from Sean Woodson, a finish and easily a 50k bonus and you get a ranked opponent next. I would love to see him against Giga Chikadze, these are 2 men who are going to stand up and give you guys a pretty decent fight, 2 of the taller men at 145. This is Woodson's chance to hit the rankings while Giga defends his number.
Fernando Padilla vs Francis Marshall - Well... that sucks for Padilla, you take an L tonight in pretty bad fashion and your birthday is tomorrow? Yikes... Anyways at 2-2 in the UFC and only 28, he can easily comeback and is he entertaining. Let's put him against Francis Marshall who is also 2-2 and still very young, someone should take a leap here.
Felipe Lima vs Andre Fili - Amazing win for Lima, he is so insanely fun to watch and needs to stay in front of crowds, NO APEX! I think one more fight for Lima and he's looking at a ranked opponent but for right now I think the UFC will give him a favorably good matchup in Andre Fili, a tough vet who has some slick boxing and could make it a fun fight, this could easily slide into a PPV Prelim Headliner of a decent card.
Miles Johns vs Pedro Munhoz - Miles Johns wanted to get in there before the year ended after his fight with Garbrandt fell through. He decided to go up a weight class and take on Lima and ended up losing tonight but for sure had some moments. When he goes back down I would like to see him against gritty UFC vet Pedro Munhoz to see how he does against a former top ranked opponent at 135 and both men are pretty much stylistically identical.
Miranda Maverick vs #11 Tracey Cortez - That is 4 in a row now for Maverick and to say she doesn't deserve a ranked opponent by now is crazy. Cortez should be ready by late March and that is just in time for the Mexico City card, put this fight on the prelims. I know Miranda said she doesn't want Cortez because of how many times she pulled out of fights but she is quite highly ranked for Miranda to be making her debut inside the rankings and its a winnable matchup for her, I say take the risk and get it rebooked.
Jamey-Lyn Horth vs Dione Barbosa - Horth took this on short notice and tried to do a quick turn around but it didn't work out. She is 2-2 in the UFC and will probably bounce around that .500 level for the rest of her career. Let's put her against Dione Barbosa who also had a pretty competitive fight with Miranda Maverick.
Davey Grant vs Brad Katona - Crazy to say that Davey is still getting it done at almost 39 years of age but he looked great tonight. I would absolutely love to see him against Brad Katona, 2 vets who usually put on pretty good scraps, would love to see this in the March at the London card.
Ramon Taveras vs John Castaneda- Ramon is in a tough spot now, he is 1-1 which isn't bad but he is almost 31 and isn't really a young prospect to turn things around. I would like to see him against John Castaneda who fought Daniel Marcos in the Summer. Castaneda had to go through surgery recently so by the time both men are ready, I think this is the one for both men.
Piera Rodriguez vs #14 Luana Pinheiro - Crazy pace from Piera tonight, she was coming off an interesting DQ loss by a head butt but clearly the UFC still has some love towards her with this matchmaking. I think the UFC will give her a ranked opponent in her next matchup and Pinheiro fits that bill, she is on a 3 fight losing streak and desperately needs a win to keep her job while Piera looks to enter the rankings.
Josefine Knutsson vs Elise Reed - Sucks to see Knutsson lose as I was super high on her, she is turning 29 in January so she can easily still improve but right now I want her to take a bit of a step back in competition and take a fight with veteran Elise Reed who could pose a challenge for Knutsson on the ground but should more than likely be a rebound for Josefine.
