(C) Dricus Du Plessis vs #1 Sean Strickland 2 - What an amazing fight... Dricus get's the submission by RNC in Round 4. Dana White already said that Sean Strickland will get the winner of this fight and after their first fight at UFC 297... who the heck doesn't want to see the rematch!?!?!?? Man Dricus is one fun fighter to watch.
#2 Israel Adesanya - Wait and stay at 185 (Imavov/Allen Winner) or try a 205 run again (Jiri) - I really don't know what is next for Izzy... he will need more than likely 2 wins to get back to the Title at 185 or he can go up a weight class and try to do the same thing that Alex did and try his luck a 2nd time at 205. I like the Jiri fight if he moves to 205 and I also like Izzy fighting the winner of Imavov vs Allen if he stays at 185, it's just such a weird position for him to be in and no one will know what the UFC and Izzy himself is planning next until the date gets closer.
#4 Kai Kara-France vs The Winner of #8 Matheus Nicolau vs #14 Asu Almabayev - What a knockout by KKF! He called for a Title shot but I don't think so... at least not yet. This is his first win since March of 2022 and everyone ranked above him has beaten
him so there isn't much good matchups for him right now. I think before we start talking about rematches above him I think he has to take one more fight outside the Top 5. Asu is a top tier grappler and Nicolau is a well mixed fighter. Him against the winner in early 2025 should be fun.
#7 Steve Erceg vs #6 Alex Perez - Very tough loss for Erceg... coming off a title fight loss which was extremly close to now suffering a KO loss.... still only 29 he can still bounce back. Alex Perez recently had a pretty bad knee injury against Taira and gonna have to have some time off, I can only assume this could be a good fight to make early next year when both of them are fully recovered and ready to come back to compete!
#5 Dan Hooker vs #2 Charles Oliveira - Dan the Hangman Hooker gets it done tonight! It was an amazing fight to watch and Dan Hooker is now on a 3 fight winning streak! I would love to see him against Charles Oliveira! Charles is looking for a Octoboer/November return, and I think this fight on the MSG card is an absolute banger of a matchup to add for New York in November! If Dan Hooker beats Charles Oliveira.... then I can't believe I am saying this but he deserves the title shot after Arman vs Islam 2 happens! 155 is looking like a bit of the clock is starting to turn back...
#6 Mateusz Gamrot vs the Winner of #10 Moicano vs #12 Saint-Denis - Tough loss for Gamrot, you could argue he deserved the Nod on the scorecards but at 33 years of age about to be 34, I don't really see a title run in the near future, I think the UFC are going to give Gamrot the fights that involve fighters trying to fight up the rankings. Whoever wins Moicano vs BSD should be a fun one against Gamrot nonetheless!
#10 Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs The winner of #11 Derrick Lewis vs #13 Alexander Romanov - That's 2 in a row for Biggy Boy. I would like him to get 1 more win before he takes a top 5. I have been absolutely calling the UFC and begging them for years to do Lewis vs Rozenstruik, if Lewis wins they NEED to make this fight. If Romanov win's, I also think you make this fight to test Biggy Boy's grappling as it isn't his strong part of his game whatsoever.
#12 Tai Tuivasa vs Martin Buday - That is 5 losses in a row for Tai... do not be surprised if he get's cut or doesn't get resigned if this is indeed the end of his contract. If he has one more fight on his contract I think the UFC puts him against Martin Buday who is 5-1 in the UFC and arguably deserves a ranked opponent but he has indeed had some stinkers. I think this is Tai's absolute last chance to get a Win in the UFC to keep his career alive before he get's cut.
Carlos Prates vs Khaos Williams - Wow... what a win by Prates.... this dude is truly the next big thing... dropping all 3 of his UFC opponents and finishing them by strikes... becoming the first to KO the Leech... One can argue he deserves a ranked opponent but he did say he wants to fight in December and called Khaos Williams an easy fight... Now I don't think he is an easy fight by any measure but both of these dudes arguably deserve a ranked opponent but the winner for SURE will deserve one here. Oh... also.. just so you know.. the loser is going to sleep in this one.
Li Jingliang vs Nicholas Dalby - The Leech loses by KO tonight... for the first time in his career. Mind you he came back after massive back surgery and has been out for 2 years. He is 36 years of age and I really just want the Leech to take fun fights for the rest of his career, I do not think he will be able to make a quick turn around in November 3 months from now to fight in his Home Country but you never know, regardless.... I would love to see him vs Dalby as everyone else would love it..... would be such a fun fight to watch.
Valter Walker vs Justin Tafa - Well like I said, definitely a weird one. Walker get's the submission and immiedetly get's confronted by Junior Tafa and even gets slapped by him, then calls out the other Tafa brother, which honestly, is a perfect callout and I honestly do love it. I would love to see this later this year as Valter took little damage and could make a quick turn around and Tafa has been out for about 4 months.
Junior Tafa vs Don'Tale Mayes - Well... Uh... That was weird... I guess Junior Tafa screamed in a heel hook and the Referee considered it a verbal tap and called the fight. Tafa didn't seem to like the call but nonetheless it was considered a loss. He is 1-3 in the UFC now but I don't think he's going to get cut just yet. I think one last fight against Don'Tale Mayes for a loser leaves town fight is a perfect matchup for both.
Ricardo Ramos vs Christian Rodriguez - Solid win tonight by Ramos, another short notice replacement fight.... Ramos got it done by split decision. Had trouble defending the leg kicks numerous times during the fight. Ramos is still super young and still a very entertaining fighter. I would love to see him against CROD as he just lost to Erosa in July. Both are these men are still super young and could be a fight we still later this year or early next year.
Josh Culibao vs Lucas Almeida - Tough loss for Culibao, I personally scored the fight a draw 28-28, nonetheless he is now on a 3 fight losing streak but one can argue he should've won his last 2 fights. I think he get's one more fight as he is super talented and I think Lucas Almeida is a perfect fit. Almeida is 2-2 in the UFC and a sharp boxer who has some good hands. It would be a great fight infront of a crowd.
#15 Casey O'Neil vs Veronica Hardy - Good win for Casey, she keeps her ranking and get's her first win since 2022! She had a great performance tonight and I think what's next is another defending of her ranking and who better than Veronica Hardy who she actually has a bit of beef with believe it or not. Hardy has been on a roll since starting off her UFC career pretty iffy, she is now on a 3 fight winning streak and this fight would be a fun striking match.
Luana Santos vs Luana Carolina - Luana Santos got her crack at the rankings tonight and didn't do well with it, although this was another short notice replacement, she was well deserved of a chance at the rankings but it didn't show tonight. Still only 24 years of age, she has so much time to improve. I think her against another Luana should do the trick, Luana Carolina is known for losing to Molly by spinning elbow KO, but since has picked up a 3 fight winning streak. Should be a good one.
Jack Jenkins vs Gavin Tucker - That was without a doubt Jack Jenkin's best performance he has ever had so far. He is now 3-1 in the UFC with his only loss coming to Chepe Mariscal. He called for a fight against Gavin Tucker in Canada in November, who he was supposed to fight tonight before Tucker pulled out and Burns stepped in. I think the UFC rebooks this fight in November as we see Jenkins continue to rise back from Injury.
Herbert Burns - RELEASED - That's 2-4 in the UFC, 4 fight losing streak, all by finish, and 2 of them by him refusing to stand up. I know he took this on short notice but I don't think he will be back, he hasn't shown any promise other than his KO over Landwehr.
Tom Nolan vs Ottman Azaitar - It was a good performance by Nolan don't get me wrong but the UFC obviously was expecting a highlight KO in favor of Nolan and it didn't happen tonight even as a crazy huge favorite. At only 24 years of age he still has a ton of time to improve, he started his UFC debut losing by R1 KO to Nikolas Motta but then came back in his second fight and KO'd Victor Martinez in Round 1. Something similar in his opponents is that they are all hand picked for Nolan to win, the UFC clearly see's something in him so I don't doubt they will try and give him someone similar but a little better, in comes Azaitar who is 2-2 in the UFC and has heavy hands but a suspect chin, should actually be a test for Nolan.
Alex Reyes - RELEASED - 0-3 in the UFC, made his debut in 2017 and now is closing in on 38 years of age, he just isn't someone who should be in the UFC all due respect.
Song Kenan vs Danny Barlow - Song Kenan tends to be the one the UFC likes to give prospects to really test them, they did it with Ian Garry, Jousset, Bedoya, and now I think it's Barlow's turn. Barlow had a pretty bad performance last week, squeezing a win by split decision by a short notice fighter. I know their going back to China in November, if Kenan would want to make the turnaround, we could see this be made.
Ricky Glenn vs DWCS winner - Glenn didn't look good in his new weight class, now on a 3 fight losing streak, the vet holds a 4-6-1 record overall and I think the UFC gives him one more shot against a DWCS contract winner.
Jesus Aguilar vs The Winner of Clayton Carpenter vs Lucas Rocha - Amazing showing from Aguilar, that puts him at 3-1 in the UFC, on a 3 fight winning streak and his only loss coming to #5 Tatsuro Taira. I do wish he would stay active as he said he's going to want to return in March of 2025, which is 7 months from now. He missed weight here so I don't think he's deserving of a ranked opponent YET. I think him against the winner of Carpenter vs Rocha is solid as those are 2 big prospects in the 125 division the UFC has their eyes on. If Aguilar can go out there and beat another prospect, I would like to see him get ranked opposition.
Stewart Nicoll vs Mitch Raposo - Pretty tough showing for the debut of Stewart Nicoll, losing by first round submission and even going out cold from it. He's 29 about to be 30 so not the youngest debutant for the Flyweight division but someone who recently made their debut earlier this year is Mitch Raposo who lost by decision. Both fighters are in similar boats and both took little damage, could see this later this year.
