Media UFC Fighters React to Manel Kape's TKO Win Over Asu Almabayev

Seems like many of you forgot the first "eye poke" where Asu was in trouble but complained and the ref - who didn't see anything - stopped the fight for about 10-15 seconds. Then the ref was told by whoever reviews it to start it up because Asu got punched in the eye.
Manel might have finished him there, but he got relief when he was hurt and about to get his ass beat.

Then later there was a legit eye scrape that didn't get called.

But 1) Manel might have finished him the first time when Asu got a break
2) Manel was beating that ass badly and the later eye poke didn't affect the outcome

I have had the suspension for a while that refs are told to not DQ fighters because of the betting pay outs. Odds of a DQ finish are like 50-1 in every fight. At least where I used to bet
You’re a bozo in this case. You watched the eye poke in slow motion then want to sit here like most people’s eyes can pick out the speed of Kape’s hands and where they landed at 4’2 firing off at max speed. How about the shit was fast and furious bozo

Kape didn't do anything wrong

Ref should've been more involved

Edit: I'm gonna insert more culpability on Cape. It was a "open hand" or "slap" that grazed his eye. He looked brilliant and was clearly winning but it think he landed an illegal eye scrape. I gotta look into it a little more

You know those try hards at the bar that watch fights and say "I could do better in there!!!" Well sometimes I feel like that honestly applies with referees. Sure the scrutiny must suck and it's probably tough putting yourself between active fighters

But beyond missing the eye strike there's an opponent wincing and calling for timeout. Sometimes you should take them at their word and stop/investigate
Dude you are making sherdog look worse lol. Kape is ridiculously fast and you sitting on your Dorito filled couch can obviously do a better job with the benefit of slow motion but there aren’t 10 people on sherdog that could have seen that at full speed. Kape is ridiculously fast

I don't think you did a good job reading my post. I said Kape looked brilliant. I was criticizing the ref. Kape looked fast and good I didn't say otherwise. He did seem to scrape his opponents eye though

Sometimes fighters milk an eye strike that could be non existent or legal . I still think given the circumstance the referee could use some prudence. I get it would be easy to miss the strike in real time because of speed, but there is the ability to pause the fight and check replays. Not every victim is Josh Koscheck. It did indeed have some controversy

I think I clicked the wrong post lol. The layout perhaps and may be morning slop

Come to think I may have not read your post well myself. Peace man. Not fighter bashing at all. Just a little surprised by the reffing
I’m more or less shocked sherdog doesn’t understand the EXTREME benefit of seeing slow motion replay and how a ref shouldn’t stop a fight unless he actually saw the foul ESPECIALLY TWICE. I’m not positive it was intentional either. It’s an interesting talking point but those hands are lightning.

But if a fighter is wincing and covering their eye, not engaging. Something abnormal may have occurred. And then the ref can view the slow motion replay to see what happened

Maybe he should've abided "protect yourself at all times" but maybe he couldn't and it was very obvious his eye got hurt and he was trying to draw attention to a foul but the referee didn't see or disregarded it

If we look at the last two main events what hurts is Song and Manel were winning anyway, but then those circumstances happened. Song's was much more egregious and rude, plus it literally caused the "finish"

Kape just unloaded on him like a champ when he (lol still don't remember his name) was focused completely on covering his eye. Eye pokes, scrapes, gouges are 100% illegal, whether they or intentional or witnessed. And refs have the jurisdiction to pause action and review footage

So if Song and Manel are superior and victorious why is our imagination marred of the rightful victor? We like clean fights and definitive results. This can't keep happening

They had orders for Kape to win because he is a loudmouth punk who will appeal to the UFC's scumbag fanbase.
Which honestly must take quite a bit of audacity to be, considering the obvious bitch tits that bouce around not too far away his loud mouth.

Hey everybody, I found Song Tha Dong's burner account.

Hey, Dong, stop poking people in the eyes

What's crazy with that three piece eye raker Kape threw is if you look at it in slowmotion you see that those "punches" started off with a closed fist and when he realized he wasn't going to reach him he opened his hand at the very end of the strike.

I need the replay but I'm 80-90% sure that the review team fucked that call up and his eye actually DID get raked on the 1st one as well.

I'm never training again. Just gonna grow out my nails and sharpen them a bit

Dude is fun to watch but seems to be a dirty fighter.
I agree with other comments that it should have been a DQ.

Automatic point deduction for raking eyes ffs. Stupid reffs.
