Yea and having a background in a related sport gives general body awareness and gpp from other sports makes the learning curve when you get back in much easier than starting from square one. Muscle memory is a real phenomena. They do it seriously. Multiple times a weak amis. Pros 1-2 a day.
But the topic was lifting numbers of UFC and boxing athletes. Why did we change the topic again. We got hobbys my bro. Wait why are we like discussing. Basicaly this sub forum is us 10 guys dragging some argument we couldn't agree on 4 months ago.Yea and having a background in a related sport gives general body awareness and gpp from other sports makes the learning curve when you get back in much easier than starting from square one. What do you really get from doing some MMA or kickboxing fight at 40. Bragging rights. Is it your dream to make the walk ?Yea and having a background in a related sport gives general body awareness and gpp from other sports makes the learning curve when you get back in much easier than starting from square one. What do I get from it? Its fun being as how much I enjoyed it when I was doing it.What do you really get from doing some MMA or kickboxing fight at 40. Bragging rights. Is it your dream to make the walk ?
You think so ? I got kicked in the head sparring day. It is fun. The kinda fun that you hate but then come back for it.What do I get from it? Its fun being as how much I enjoyed it when I was doing it.
I have a rough plan fella. I didn’t ask for assistance. You would have to train at a MMA gym with sparring to get ready for that. Wait 3 more years. 44 is a good age to make your debut vs some 27 year old guy who trains for 5 years in a row.
fearI have a rough plan fella. I didn’t ask for assistance.
you were training, mostly karate. Big difference from mma. Then training, then training with sparring, then actualy fighting. All levels. What do I get from it? Its fun being as how much I enjoyed it when I was doing it.
If had fear I never would have fought anybody. Do you want the honest truth? I hurt people in real fights and I was hurt emotionally in fights. I did not like the feeling of giving somebody a life altering injury or hurting someones pride when I was young. My father steered me into martial arts and steered me away from it to pursue other sports. If the feeling is mutual situation of I try to hurt you and you try to hurt me and no hard feelings afterward but to prove who is the better man that day that is something I can absolutely do today without emotional baggage of winning or losing.fear
mm what is the point here ?If had fear I never would have fought anybody. Do you want the honest truth? I hurt people in real fights and I was hurt emotionally in fights. actually we had about year of focusing on grappling. The first lessons we were taught in Tae Kwon do was standing grappling actually. And then how to deal with grounded opponents by either a one shot and get out of dodge or a submission lock.you were training, mostly karate. Big difference from mma. that is for you to decide.mm what is the point here ?

100% effort, 30% dmg is the way to go.We sparred hard in karate classes but rarely and you should know by now that it simply isn't necessary to take every sparring match 100%.
Nope I would definitely beat some amateurs and lose to some....I would definitely beat some "pros" and lose to some I have no illusions about my abilityYou think you win vs any amateur in mma ? Do you think you beat a pro ? America does have some God awful amateurs sometimes as seen on ig clips. But a legit opponent. You think you will go out and win ? Will you go do that ?
You have a lot to learn then grasshopper. Traditional martial arts were not always watered down focused on point competition but rather point sparring was a part of it.tae kwon do grappling ? Never heard of this

broad spectrum from 1-100 in quality of competitors.Nope I would definitely beat some amateurs and lose to some....I would definitely beat some "pros" and lose to some I have no illusions about my ability
Im not name dropping but there are "pros" my area who a feather or flyweights I would have no issues with. I will namedrop one guy Ryan Span who is from my city who is in the UFC as we speak. If I had to fight him I would go for a rear naked, a heel hook, or a triangle and it would be a miracle to pull it off.broad spectrum from 1-100 in quality of competitors.
