UFC FIGHT NIGHT 259 underdog pick of the night

Well I appreciate your input for sure. Someone posted they thought it would be more interesting if there were more reason to pick bigger dogs, someone else liked it. I gave an extensive response on the pluses and minuses of both sides. Maybe I go back to the numbers but keep the idea of getting multiple wins for bigger dogs.
As I said to them the who reason I started this was the idea of getting the highest score on the pick every fight sites. I might not be great at picking all the fights but if I just went with the odds for almost all of them and only picked 1 fight against the odds each time, and got more right then wrong, I would be picking cards in the very highest tier.
The threads are fun. I don't think it really has to be a contest. But if it is, you would have to be the score keeper and keep track. A points system would be cool.

I'd be curious what my record is, but I post so damn much already it would be hell to figure out how many picks I've got right and wrong.

@doozer Reese is the favorite

Let's go with Stoltzfus.
Dang. I did it again. And this time I double checked them. I think it was also to do with my implementing the point idea so my mind doesn’t work that way. I corrected it now but it’s a bit of a late correction. Thanks.

New system is great. Thank you.
Also showing the actual odds would still be cool though. Mad props btw.

Martinez and Hernandez are near even, so it's hard to pick them as underdogs because they could possibly be slight favorites by the time the fights start.

I'll go with Dumas since I have no idea who most of these bums are on this card.

I agree that I don’t want it to be a contest. A while back someone mentioned it and I said one of the reasons I don’t keep track is because some people might not want their record kept track of. For me it’s a fight against the books, if I go over 50/50 I’m winning (though I would rather be well above that line).
I suggested to them that if anyone told be what their current record was I would tag it onto every new thread. But at that time there were less than 10 cards completed. If you wish to keep track, or even have me post your record onto the thread each month there are a couple options. I don’t suggest going back through all the threads with the search function. You could start mid year. Or go back and start just after your last loss (I started the thread after 2 clear dogs of the night and just before the third so I started when I was already ahead). Or you could just start now. None of those unfortunately fill your curiosity for how well you’ve done, but at least you would know going forward.

I was thinking next year of turning it into a single thread where I just edit the original post and each card just gets tagged onto the same thread.

Thanks. I’m glad you like it. And it certainly wouldn’t hurt to have the odds for those who like those. One nice plus to this system is when someone came on here and said he doesn’t know what the numbers mean. With just the odds people who don’t understand them can’t participate. With the points everyone knows who is a dog.

It’s hard to draw that line. So I figure if anyone sees a plus number on a fighter on any betting site they can claim them as a dog because if you can lock in your plus pick and then it changes you still got your plus pick.

Hernandez is +100, Martinez is +102 on Sherdog's sportsbook.

Truly the slightest of dogs. Almost not worthy of being called a dog at all. But I have to draw the line somewhere. If I say +110 then any fight at +110 becomes suspect. Just keeping it as plus numbers is the simplest way (besides I don’t want to explain each thread why I don’t accept +100 as dogs)
