UFC Fight Night 137

tbh, i just looked at their oponents' records. there's not much into it really, cowboy and elizeu can be sloppy yes but their opponents are waaay overmatched here. a lw fighting at ww in short notice and a point fighter and grappler vs cowboy? he's a big strong guy with legit grappling skills himself. i think they win
Oh I also think they will win fairly easy, but that does not mean they are locks. Could see Pedersoli catching Cowboy with the amount of headkicks he spams. Don't know much about Vandramini, but can't help to think about Hernandez/Dariush, younger fighter coming in on short notice with nothing to lose and get no respect from bettors or his opponent. Although Hernandez had wins over much more accomplished fighters than Vandramini

I dont trust Oliviera even against a bum.

Charles has lost to a whose who and hes had every single one of them in trouble. He's faced killer after killer this is a big step down and it's in Brazil. Giagos probably only wins from a standing KO and no one has done that to Charles in a long time.

I'm loving

Sam Alvey
Hector Lombard
Barao

That's about it

I get what you're saying, but what are people missing here. Elezei is still very underrated IMO. He's quite the beast, good skills allaround, tenacity, willpower and actual KO skills. I think he will big brother the newcomer, but I still have tape to watch on Vandramini. Elezei REMOVED Strickland for gods sake. It's all about if Santos removes him early or not.

Giagos by esophagus punch.

Seriously, the Oliveira ITD line is the only one that's remotely bettable. This is the most unbettable fight of the year imo. Do Bronx is a terrible stylistic matchup for Giagos, but Giagos at least has heart, so can't consider touching Oliveira ML.

Heart is important but when there's a big grappling disparity like this it shouldn't matter. Felder gutted his way out (and kept his composure) of a tough spot vs Do Bronx but Giagos just isn't nearly as good as Felder anywhere.

Not to mention Do Bronx isn't an idiot. He knows he has a huge grappling edge. Hes gonna get this thing to the mat one way or another (he has the luxury of using any tactic out there because even if he ends up on his back he still has the advantage).

Do Bronx itd should be -325ish imo.

He was losing to Strickland and then hit a crazy headkick. Wasn't like he completely pillar-to-post annihilated him.

Alvey waaaaaay too likely to just do fuck all

Zaleski is in fight of the night all the time because he takes too much punishment. It's a see saw battle in most of his fights. This newcomer looks like he has solid skills. I can't really pick faults in him, he looks like he can be competitive here. Problem is his size disadvantage is just too much for me to take him.

Noguiera has been so inactive and Alveys right hook is a pretty effective weapon here. I can't really see Nog getting too much done. Alvey should keep him at bay with the threat of the left hand and the right hook should land any time Nog tries anything. Pretty good style match up for Alvey because the counters should be there. I'd feel more comfortable betting on Alvey if someone lit a fire up his ass in the octagon.

Seems the UFC are doing all they can to salvage what is left of Barao's career.

UFC have offered this Ewell guy up on a platter. Low level fighter, UFC debut in Brazil against a former world champion.

Nail in the coffin of Barao's UFC career if he can't get this done, he should get this done

Sources say that Alvey's said he's gonna be more aggressive in this one, but everybody's got a plan till they back themselves to the cage and do nothing in a foreign country with shit judging.

Luigi's unproven, but I am kinda tempted there.

Prettymuch. Barao reallly should get this done, and it's not like Ewell's any form of prospect to be giving a name win. If the UFC wanted/expected Barao to lose this, they'd be putting him against somebody who could use the bump productively.

Then again, expecting the UFC to develop guys properly/use their assets doesn't seem to work.

Nah not having it
Sam Alvey by KO
And you owe me a beer

Alvey backers seem to be basing their reasoning solely on Nog's age. He's never shown chin issues

And it's not like Alvey's an aggressive, pressure-based headhunter. Dude's content to do nothing.

Barao is a cuck
Prettymuch all of the sensible favorites on this card are cucks. Alvey, Lombard, Barao, Santos, Oliveira x 2 and more have all pissed away fights before.

What if he gets clipped on the esophagus?
