It was cringe but can u say they lied? Ufc was a semi pro sport at the time, still is to a degree. But they did it.

It’s just a gimmick to sell a big fight, not really worth all the crying being done about it. It’s a good marketing tool as well, it’s funny how fans bitch UFC doesn’t market well enough then when they attempt it hardcore fans can’t do anything but shit all over it.

It’s a cool fight between two high level vets that always throw down but people will find reasons to hate anything good these days.
 
I don't mind it. If this belt has to exist at all, a tradition where the last recipient puts the belt on the new one is ok with me.
 
Seeing all the rasslin clips reminds me that the BMF title is like the bullshit Intercontinental Title in professional wrestling.
 
I can only imagine that it would be awkward as fuck if Gaethje ends up sending Dustin to the shadow realm and then Masvidal -- Poirier's close friend and training partner of many years -- is the one to come out and wrap the gimmick belt around Justin's waist. Especially since Justin has talked about how dumb he finds said belt lol.

I think his losing streak makes the title of baddest accurate.
 
Jorge is on the stage acting like he matters in the buildup to this fight. Lets forget that BMF is the dumb gimmick, if we look at it objectively, Leon Edwards is the lineal BMF champ. Imagine getting presented a fake belt by a guy who took 4 L’s in a row and is known for sucker punching dudes.

Look I'm no big Masvidal guy, I think a lot of his conduct outside of the sport just ain't it and I find his world view odious, but the UFC called him up for this and whatever you think about the BMF belt (I agree it's stupid) he's technically the holder of it.

I'm sure the UFC wants him to be hamming it up plus he's trying to do things in his post fight career business wise so publicity helps.

I love to hate as a true basement boi but I can't hate on this one, mans doing what he was brought to do.
 
This might be corny as hell but honestly, it's a lot of fun too. I'm all for it.
