People only buy music because when Napster and shit came around, hackers and all sorts of shitheads made it difficult for your average person to download music without compromising their internet security. I literally watched as people destroyed their PC's and gave up on downloading music because it was too hard for them to just NOT download the first thing they saw labeled Wiz Khalifa and maybe check the integrity of what they're downloading...
The idea of something being free, is not something people would just ignore for the sake of "what's right". Naturally people gave up instead of learning how to use a virus scanner, or understand what makes a safe download... Everyone did it. That's the only reason why things like Spotify exist in the first place. It's capitalizing on a market that's incapable of just getting their music for free (not saying that's you).
That being said, it is a convenient way to get music for most people and I respect that. I just think society likes to have anything technological broken down for them, and I find that to be a real dumbing down of human intelligence and it's capabilities.
