UFC commentator Joe Rogan no new podcast episodes on Youtube

People only buy music because when Napster and shit came around, hackers and all sorts of shitheads made it difficult for your average person to download music without compromising their internet security. I literally watched as people destroyed their PC's and gave up on downloading music because it was too hard for them to just NOT download the first thing they saw labeled Wiz Khalifa and maybe check the integrity of what they're downloading...

The idea of something being free, is not something people would just ignore for the sake of "what's right". Naturally people gave up instead of learning how to use a virus scanner, or understand what makes a safe download... Everyone did it. That's the only reason why things like Spotify exist in the first place. It's capitalizing on a market that's incapable of just getting their music for free (not saying that's you).

That being said, it is a convenient way to get music for most people and I respect that. I just think society likes to have anything technological broken down for them, and I find that to be a real dumbing down of human intelligence and it's capabilities.

I don't think it's that really, it's just easier to have everything in one place. It's why people would rather pay a bit for Netflix than Torrent stuff. It's just easier, if I find an album on RYM that I want to listen to, it'll usually give me a spotify link and I can be listening to it within seconds of being aware it existed.

This is fight relevant because it involves Toe Rogan.

Pretty dumb thread but this is Sherdog so sod off. Post you favorite JRE clip in homage to the Toe leaving everyone behind a pay wall.

P.S. Before anyone comments I mean no new episodes as they will now be on Spotify. You can still find content on Youtube.

Yea this is when the deal officially kicks in now. Spotify is gonna start locking up his content to there platform its the main point of the sell out deal Joe made.

Guessing they are gonna start trying to monetize his fan base as soon as possible lol

I've only watched like 4 podcast in total (not counting fight companions); i am not a fan of the JRE and i've said it why several times here but the ones i've watched were good: whitman with Gaethje, Imperioli with Schirripa, Luke Thomas and Romero with Uncle Joey.

I stay the fuck away from political/woke/controversial/scientific stuff on the JRE, that's when you see Rogan shifting hard on what he thinks to fit the guest.

No we're the generation to save humanity and stand up against corporate greed.. why keep feeding the rich when they never help the poor? Charity's are a scam, and so is paying per view and paying per song.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but why the hell should someone entertain someone for free? Especially when it's their livelihood. Not every musician is rolling in dough... in fact most musicians aren't (and Kanye West does not count as a musician). Artists are poor. It's always been that way.

Because of the internet, we have no choice but to accept that music and video can easily be passed around for the price of 0 dollars. That's why so many artists have gone to YT and Spotify.

What's your alternative to having any song you want to play in the car or doing things in the house?
Unless you are an iphone owner there is Youtube Vanced for your phone, which eliminates ads and gives you background/screen off playback.

Didn't youtube block any app from being able to do that?

Still works, it seems like they cloned the paid youtube app.

I like the simplicity of Amazon Music unlimited. Youtube you have to search. With Amazon music, i can have it play random genre which i might end up listening to a song i havent heard in 20 years, and never even crossed my mind. (i was an 80/90's kid)

Amazon includes some basic music subscription with Prime, is it any good?

It's not more convenient for most people, it's the only thing they know how to do. Download app, press button. That's it.

The reason why things like Spotify exist is because people gave up on free music when Napster and things like that came around. It was a rude awakening to the fact that most people either can't or don't care to understand how to use a computer for things that matter to them. Not saying this is your excuse, but most people would claim it was inconvenient and they'd rather use something like Spotify. That's been the excuse since day 1.

There's nothing time consuming or difficult about downloading and putting music on your device. Nothing whatsoever. You literally plug your phone in, and click and drag an icon.

I had something similar but mine stopped working. I was more of a listen to music album by album kind of person but I sometimes like mixes that aren't static all the time. Plus, I couldn't find some albums for bands I like but Spotify had them on release day

Are you trying to argue people know how to get free music? It's not more convenient for most people, it's the only thing they know how to do. Download app, press button. That's it.

Yeah, but with Spotify I can do that kind of shit while I'm out and about anyway.

This fucker was never relevant anyway, but still, what a soulless fuck.
Like all these libs, for all his virtue signalling he remains very much a capitalist when it comes to his livelihood.
I'd really like to see his numbers behind a paywall though. Who the fuck is going to pay to watch this shit?

What do you mean? You put the files on your phone and they're just there. You don't have to worry about whether you're home or not.

Maybe if you like listening to a different artist every time you listen to music sure. Most people I know don't listen to different music every time they do but I'm sure there are plenty of people who do. That's not the type of person I'm talking about.

I dunno about other people dude. I go through probably 1000 albums a year, so for me it makes sense.

wrong but nice try. He said nothing of the sort. his LAWYER said that, doing what LAWYERS do, saying anything to win their case

I'm surprised you cant read very well
Your existence just screams "high achieving man of literature"

Cant really comment on mixes vs album listening preference, but i have heard from a couple of people that the music they like is not on Spotify, one of them actually pays Google subscription to use the music app.

You absolutely were talking about other people, right from the get-go. But hey, don't address anything I said and while failing to remember the context of the conversation.
