UFC commentator Joe Rogan no new podcast episodes on Youtube

I don't think it's that really, it's just easier to have everything in one place. It's why people would rather pay a bit for Netflix than Torrent stuff. It's just easier, if I find an album on RYM that I want to listen to, it'll usually give me a spotify link and I can be listening to it within seconds of being aware it existed.
Netflix is actually quite limited, same goes for Prime Video, i have those two and i still use Torrent (Popcorn time) from time to time for the content that is either too new or is not on them because it belongs to another platform, ie HBO, Disney+, and so on.

It blows me how many people are unwilling to pay for things they enjoy at the expense of the creators. A generation of losers.

Im not a cheap bastard and willing to pay for stuff but problem is these days eveyone is trying to monetize there user base. Think most should stick to ads, by monetizing you risk losing a ton of your user base. Not worth it. In Rogans case it was big cash offer from Spotify to sell out and he has enough listeners that he can risk losing some by locking down to a platform.

No pirate-sites has even 1% of the stuff, that you on find on Spotify. The library is huge, always at your fingertip and easy to download playlists and play them in the app offline.
I find that argument funny because 99.99% of the content on Spotify has no use for me. Maybe if you are into mainstream music it's worth it.
What's your alternative to having any song you want to play in the car or doing things in the house?
I have any song I want already in my computer and my phone.

Exactly what makes Spotify great is that it goes way beyond the mainstream. You can do deep-dives that aren't available on YouTube or any piracy-site I know off.

Netflix has gotten really bad the past 6-9 months.

How many plays for an artist to receive a dollar from Spotify?

Variable depends on Artist...obviously bigger names get a better cut. The majority of Artist on there are in low or mid tier so there getting an ultra tiny tiny fraction of 1 cent a listen, like not even an eight of a cent lol. Forget the number but it’s ridiculous how tiny of a fraction of a penny they get per listen.

It takes millions of listens on a song for them to even see 1 grand. They of course are not that popular and never reach such numbers so they are making nothing. There getting screwed baddd.

Bigger artist get a better cut but even they arent really getting paid like they used to in CD/Itunes days. All other streamers have copied the Spotify model too so Artist getting similar deals with Apple music, Tidal, amazon music etc

Its the reason why you see Rappers tour alot. Only real way for them to make big money now

People only buy music because when Napster and shit came around, hackers and all sorts of shitheads made it difficult for your average person to download music without compromising their internet security. I literally watched as people destroyed their PC's and gave up on downloading music because it was too hard for them to just NOT download the first thing they saw labeled Wiz Khalifa and maybe check the integrity of what they're downloading...

The idea of something being free, is not something people would just ignore for the sake of "what's right". Naturally people gave up instead of learning how to use a virus scanner, or understand what makes a safe download... Everyone did it. That's the only reason why things like Spotify exist in the first place. It's capitalizing on a market that's incapable of just getting their music for free (not saying that's you).

That being said, it is a convenient way to get music for most people and I respect that. I just think society likes to have anything technological broken down for them, and I find that to be a real dumbing down of human intelligence and it's capabilities.
Here is the book, memorize the correct answers, here is the diploma.

You know that people do that as a legal defense right? Same way Fox News claimed it's entertainment not news, and Facebook and Twitter claim they are platforms and not publishers. Fox and Alex Jones have made outrageous claims, some true some false, and Twitter and Facebook are publishers that restrict content and violate copyright laws millions of times a day, but also allow free expression most of the time.
CNN and FOX have x many million viewers a day and both lie all the time. This is the world we live in.

Fox News did not claim its entertainment.
2 particular shows have.
CNN and FOX both claim make clear they are news channels with editorial programming at certain hours (lemon, maddow, tucker, hannity)

As far as copyright goes on these social media sites, you tacitly grant a license to them to use the content and for others to view it..

Same. The new setup is very off putting.
I agree.

I don't quite know why he actually left California.
Pissed off with the traffic? The State taxes? (Texas has no State income taxes). The Democrat-heavy California thing?
Doubt it'd be about MONEY I don't think cos the dude is extremely rich, even before the Spotify deal.

Also...I just downloaded Spotify. I had no idea it was actually free, I thought it cost to have it running at all.
Obviously there is the Premium version which costs, but.....heck I'm just happy having it for free to play music.

I've installed it in my computer and phone and I'm on the premium trial, so if I find it useful I'm open to keep my subscription. Time will tell.

Years ago I used to pirate videogames and when Steam came over it became so convenient that I ended up buying a ton of videogames I already played.

I'm a software dev and know how to download anything that's legit. Thing is, monitoring my network traffic I found the American alphabet agencies were watching what I was downloading, even old and seemingly worthless torrents.

They are doing the same thing to most everyone. There's always a VPN and encrypted net traffic but holy shit... listening to Wiz Khalifa is not worth trying to hide my traffic from the she eye a and the FIB when I know they were already looking at what I was doing. Super fucking dangerous to be messing around with these agencies. I'd rather pay $10 than have to worry about some asshole behind a workstation fucking up my life on a whim.

rogan believes in the deep state and obama gate. he's an idiot just like gina carano and alex jones.

You're joking right? It's a torrent, there's all sorts of connections coming in, that doesn't mean they're watching you man... like how did you even come to the conclusion they were "watching" you? The FBI and CIA have MUCH bigger fish to fry than some guy downloading music and videos on his computer. They're not going to waste time and resources to track down a guy listening to Wiz Khalifa. Show me the court cases based on people getting arrested for downloading personal music... I'm waiting.

It has millions of songs on it for not much money and no adverts. It's just a lot easier and more convenient than Torrenting everything.

Does you solid recommendations based on stuff you like too, plus you can make playlists, access other people's playlists etc.

It has loads of podcasts too, though I don't use it for that.
Is it better than apple music?
